Re: They arrived!! New Baileyi and Suvatti
Howdy all.. Having been away for a week I thought i'd post an update. I was a bit nervous as to what state my puffers (especially my baileyis and savatti as they are very new and still settling in!) would be in. I had somebody going in to feed them everyday who is an experienced fish keeper but has ...

Re: One puff not enough, New Suvattii
all of mine seem to be happy to eat defrosted shrimp/clams/cockles
I can't claim any credit, they all seemed to have been 'pre-weened' before they arrived..

Re: The savage
Has anybody on here ever actually been bitten by a puffer?
I'm extra cautious, i don't put my hands actually in the tanks other than my schoutedeni tank but they're only 2-3 cm at the moment!

Re: They arrived!! New Baileyi and Suvatti
As an update - he ate well again this morning and was moving around
I'm now away for a few days (don't worry there is someone at home to feed my puffers!!) - hopefully pics will follow on my return.

Re: They arrived!! New Baileyi and Suvatti
Good news!! I came home today and he was still in the same spot, he hadn't eaten the feeder fish. I dropped a frozen (and defrosted) shrimp in front of him and he ate it. He then came looking for more! I managed to get him to eat 4 in the end and he even had a bit of a swim around. I was very reliev...

Re: They arrived!! New Baileyi and Suvatti
so i got home tonight...he's moved to the otherside of the tank and at the back. he's not moving and is on the bottom. but he's not on his side anymore, he's now looking what i'd think is more normal for a 'lurker' puffer, i.e. sat on the bottom and not moving. I can't see what his eyes are like as ...

Re: They arrived!! New Baileyi and Suvatti
bad news guys.... my large hairy arrived but it doesn't look as though he has travelled well :-(!! I floated him and released after 10 mins. he went straight to the bottom lying on his side, not moving any fins. I can't see any obvious sign of physical damage other than it looks as though he eyes ha...

Re: They arrived!! New Baileyi and Suvatti
Hi DMD, I've been meaning to post an update. My Baileyi and Suvatti are doing great. The baileyi is eating roughly 1 shrimp a day (frozen and defrosted). I managed to get the Suvatti to eat 6 of them on saturday!! But nothing since - but not totally unexpected as I know they don't need to eat every ...

Are these abei or ...?
Hi all, Although I've got my hairy and suvatti (and possibly another large hairy on the way!!) I'm in a bit of a spend zone at the moment - coupled with the fact I know somebody who has just closed a fish room so access to cheap second hand aquariums :D Still tempted by the 'Abei' puffers in a shop ...
