Re: Leopard frog tankmates?

I'd suggest that you get some valid advice from someone experienced with these amphibians as far as stocking, necessary space, territory, feeding, humidity levels, ventilation, temperatures, water quality, potential health problems................ Re: My Green Terror Lost An Eye

This is a 60 gallon aquarium, but it is a balloon green terror, so has plenty of swimming room. Thanks, sorry I missed that in your opening post. I'd say that you have an overstocked tank full of aggressive fish. I just spent 5 minutes on "google" to determine that. There may be "ple...

Re: My Green Terror Lost An Eye

How long does it take for a Jack or a Leporinus to bite out an eye, no time at all. If it's damage inflicted by other fish, it's not popeye. As I said before, a damaged fish will be picked on by the others. And the injury may lead to infection. For the sake of the fish, get it out of there. IFit's p...

Re: My Green Terror Lost An Eye

Any fish, especially ones that tend to be aggressive, may cause an injury.
After that, the aggressor or any of the other fish may pick at it relentlessly.
About all you can do at this point is quarantine the injured fish & treat with melafix or pimafix, or whatever else is appropriate.

Unfortunately, as I found room for a 10g I had tucked away, I had no time to set it up as the poor puffer has already passed on... Sorry you lost the puffer, but in the future, please don't allow a situation of harassment or any other stress affect the lives of your fish or pets. Harassment, ...

Re: Puffer Upside Down

ammonia level is posted in original thread where? I don't think the 500g tank is over crowded with 5 fish and 2 eels I do. There's obviously something wrong, and as in almost all cases, it's probably water/toxin related. I see no reference to ammonia levels, and your nitrate level is off the chart!...

ammonia level?
tank is overcrowded.
copper may also be the issue. many puffers don't do well with chemical treatments.

Re: Baby puffer won’t eat

aren't you concerned about your nitrite level? what's your ammonia level? what kind of test kit are you using? what kind of dewormer and how are you dosing it? the antibiotic may do more harm than good in the long run if there is no infection that it is formulated for. krill is like "crack"...

Re: Feeding DP bloodworms after the worms died?

what kind of worms do you have?
"bloodworms" are not worms, but larvae, and typically not sold live (ordinarily freeze dried or frozen).

Re: Feeding DP bloodworms after the worms died?

I took my water to the LFS. I’m not 100% sure what the second nitrate was, but the first nitrate was 0, and ammonia was definitely 0. You really need your own test kits. be sure to get a good liquid teat kit such as from A.P.I. they are inexpensive on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/API-FRESHWATER-80...
