Re: my tank set up looks very odd... pls help
Heh that was exactly the meaning I intended, taken from that exact episode.

Re: just heard bio spyra isnt being sold any more. is this true?
Yeah, and they make one for ponds, too. Actually there are four kinds: one for freshwater, one for saltwater, one for reef, and one for ponds. The dude's been busy! :D FYI, when we get SafeStart, it comes in styrofoam boxes with a chillpack, which maybe tells you something. We haven't reordered BioS...

Re: Pets and Music!
Yes, I got very lucky with my bun-bun! He was a customer surrender, cage and all, and I had been wanting a bunny for a while so he came at a good time. At the time we had sort of a store pet rabbit named Wild Boy (an agouti Mini Rex), and I was leaning towards choosing him - but for some reason that...

Re: my tank set up looks very odd... pls help
Well I kind of thought your tank didn't look so bad, although I might have not used the volcano or the T-rex. But then I have a very poor sense of design - unlike the popular stereotype of my "team". Learning to keep it simple with a lot of one kind of plant rather than dozens of different...

Re: Pets and Music!
Hehe cool. Mine's only thumped a couple of times. The first time was one evening when I entered the living room and walked over to my GSP's tank, then turned around to look at my bunny a couple of yards away. All of a sudden he shot under an end table and then went behind the sofa, and started thump...

Re: Pets and Music!
Yes that could be it, Flutter. Rabbits thump when they're scared or stressed, and what is thumping but the generation of a strong vibration in whatever surface the rabbit happens to be on at the time. So perhaps he's hearing the "thump thump" of the bass and drums in my music and interpret...

Re: feeding question
If they're raw, go ahead and try. In the past I've offered it to my puffers, but none of them seem to be interested in it for some reason so I don't buy it anymore.
Mmm...now I have a craving for some fried calamari rings.

Re: A. modestus teeth problems
You might want to start breeding snails. I've given my modestus snails several times per week since I've had him (8 months) and his teeth are fine.

Re: Pets and Music!
Now this is odd: I've noticed that my bunny gets a little excited when I play loud house music with a heavy beat. And by excited I mean aroused.

Re: Unhappy GSP
My GSP hides or sleeps most of the day, but in the evening when we move into the living room to watch TV, she gets pretty active and stays that way until we go to bed. I have wondered if maybe she's bothered by the two blue damsels in her tank, but when she's up and around she acts like they're not ...

Re: Unhappy GSP
Yes, actually they are not all that active, at least in my experience: my GSP, my Ceylon, and my Bronze puffer all spend most of their time sleeping.

Re: My puffer has a lump on his head
Wow. You ask a lot of questions, but that's good. :) And oh, almost forgot - welcome to the forum! Regarding the lump: can you post a pic or two of it? That would help a lot. What color is it? How big is it? Where exactly on his head is it? How long ago was the ammonia that high? How long ago did th...

Re: gsp and marine conditions..
Just because your puffer hasn't eaten the tankmates doesn't mean it won't someday, so don't get too complacent. The only puffers I have that haven't eventually eaten tankmates after several months of seemingly happy coexistence are my dwarf puffers.

Re: I give up
Oh I know, you're right PP and everyone else, it's just that I was still upset when I started the thread and had to vent. My dad was Italian/Sicilian, and like him, I tend to go absolutely crazy over something right off the bat - but then five minutes later it's like nothing happened. I can't say th...

Re: I give up
I don't blame the puffer; I blame myself. I'm not going to beat myself up about it - at least not too much - but I think I've bought my last puffer.
