Well, there you have it.. I've heard so much good and bad I don't know what to believe... But with the new driftwood, I won't have room for the lava rock chunks anyways so they are coming out. I've had the tank set up for about 2 years with the lava rock (from the fish store and acutally I had epoxy...

Very true about the nano lighting.. it would probably be great for a freshwater planted tank (with the appropriate bulb) but with no plants or coral its just feeding the algae. There have been studies to prove that fish release a hormone into the water that is actually a growth inhibitor, when it bu...

Definately read the article. I personally found ramshorns bred and grew the fastest, plus they get to a larger size that would be more appropriate for a Fahaka. For smaller puffers, or while the Fahaka is young, pond snails work very well. Most other types of snails take too long to grow or breed to...

Cooper, I currently have big lava rock chunks in my dp/SAP tank to make caves for the kribs that are also in there (yes, I know, mixing types is bad and some day I'll probably have to seperate but its working for now). I've been told by several people that lava rock is dangerous and can start to rel...

If you haven't yet, read the sticky on GSP care, it is located in the Brackish fish board. First, a single GSP needs 30 gallons as it matures, so you'll eventually need a bigger tank. 12 gallons would be good for a figure 8 or some of the smaller puffers, but it won't last for a GSP. The sooner you ...

Don't raise your salinity too fast.. if you go more than .002 a week you can kill off your bacteria. So take it slow... As far as getting more than one, most people say their puffers are more interactive and interesting when they are kept alone. If you get more than one, you'll almost always have so...
