It has been reported multiple times and places that the FW puffers tend to more toxin in their skin than the BW/SW puffers.

No, the cocktail shrimp around here are medium to small shell-on shrimp, frozen, not cooked. Jumbo shrimp don't provide enough crunch for smallish fish for me. I eat those myself, but cooked and shelled.

The extra water of hydration in BW can be an issue in some test formats, but that will vary from test to test depending on the particular chemistry. There is no way to generalize for tests across the board.

Is that the dots/bumps? If so, it is the fish's spines. Full normal.

Get spare tanks set and keep them ready. A 180 IME is 6'x2', so 12 square feet for a footprint. Eight GSPs in there gives 1 1/3 sq. ft. each. I doubt that is enough territory for a mature GSP. You will need to watch for and remove the aggressors.

Smallest issue first - very hard water is a benefit, feel free to look that gift horse in the mouth.
