Re: Puffer mania

Me, too! I was waiting in the driveway when the FedEx person drove up and he just handed me the box out of the window. He'd been keeping it on the front seat, which was at least nice of them. They probably think I'm crazy, but I don't care. Now, on to photos of the puffs! I'll take a picture of the ...

Re: Puffer mania

I have good news! The puffs came in this morning and look surprisingly healthy given their ordeal! Wes really is wonderful stuff! Thanks for your advice about the MB, Bleedingheartmommy, I didn't realize it could be used that way, too! I'll take a photo of the parasite. I was attached to her belly, ...

Re: I finally got my irrubesco!! For real this time.

I'm so sorry this happened! How horrible! After all of that searching and all of your care. I can't even imagine. And to have potential irrubesco fry that close, to boot. I'm so sorry.

Re: Puffer mania

Glad to hear yours are on the upswing still! That's great news! I have a 15g ramshorn tank and a 5g blackworm tank so am all set on those two. I buy all of their other food. Growing two different varieties is my max, lol. That's a good idea about the zucchini. I've been feeding blanched kale and hik...

They were shipped today and are scheduled to arrive tomorrow, so almost here!!! SP, how are yours doing after the scare? Seems like they're on the upswing? I got my first ...

Puffer mania

So I've gone completely overboard and procured 5 T. schoutedeni for my 125g. They arrive on Friday. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!!! Tankmates will be upside-down cats, a few chocolate A. australe, and a school of oneline tetra. I'm trying to do a semi-biotope tank, so lots of wood, river roc...

Re: Skinny and delayed Tetraodon schoutedeni (spotted congo) shipment

I had a T. schoutedeni come in that looked about as skinny and tiny as your skinny guys. It took her about 3 weeks of live blackworms and live ramshorns to start looking like a normal puffer. She had been treated for IPs. I am really rooting for you and your new family members. Please keep us posted...

Re: Tetraodon schoutedeni on the way- advice needed

I'm still only able to get the baby T. schoutedeni to eat live blackworms and ramshorns. The older one will eat freeze dried krill soaked in vitamin water, sometimes clams soaked in vitamin water, shrimp soaked in vitamin water, and live blackworms. They are both big fans of the ramshorns. Finding s...

Re: Feeding behavior of baby T. schoutedeni

Hi there, thank you! That is great to know about searching for information via hashtags. I will have to try that, as I am always on the lookout for more information about these guys. I unfortunately don't have a site where I share any information on my tanks other than here. I'm really grateful to t...

Feeding behavior of baby T. schoutedeni

Hi All, This will probably not come as a surprise to you, am only posting because there isn't much out there on the behavior of baby T. schoutedeni. "Daphne" is my baby schoutedeni in a tank with my mature schoutedeni, "Copernicus ". Copernicus was wild caught and Daphne tank rai...

That's pretty fantastic! Glad I went with the Eheim. It came today, and I'm practically giddy.

Re: Fluval FX5, FX6 or Eheim 2262

Thanks so much for your reply. That is great feedback. I needed the nudge-think I'm going to push the button today and get the Eheim! Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience recently with Fluval. I hope they were able to fix it...

Fluval FX5, FX6 or Eheim 2262

Hi All, I recently got a great deal on a 125g and am going to do a heavily planted tank with a group of 5-7 t. schoutedeni and corys. I am trying to decide between a Fluval FX5, FX6, or Eheim 2262 for filtration. Thoughts on which I should go with? I have to say, the Eheim is so much more expensive ...
