Re: aquarium full of dps at capitol aquarium that took my breath
Capitol Aquarium is where I got my DPs over a year ago. They always have really nice ones!

Re: frozen krill
My DPs picked at frozen krill a little bit but let most of it just sit on the bottom of the tank. Same with mysis shrimp. They LOVE frozen brine shrimp though (I only give it occasionally). I find it so strange reading how everybody's puffers are so vastly different in the foods they'll accept or re...

Re: Tank finally ready for pea puffers :)
I bought 5 juvies for my 29 gallon tank (so small they couldn't possibly be sexed), and unfortunately I've ended up with 3 males and 2 females. Everyone seemed to be getting along well ... until recently. Now the males are getting into regular scraps with one another, and my favorite male has an inj...

Happiest as Singletons?
So I've read that singleton F8s typically live longer than those kept in pairs or groups (provided all fish have ample space, good water quality, good food, etc.). I'm guessing that this can apply to GSPs as well? But I was wondering whether the experienced folks found their F8s and GSPs to be happi...

Re: About to take the DP Plunge
My DPs do like their hidey-spots at night -- the minute the tank lights are turned off, I don't see any of them till morning. I have a couple of little cichlid cave rock thingies that they seem to enjoy, plus a big cave and a hollow shipwreck.
LOVE that glass piece. Very pretty!

Re: My new 30g for my GSP Biggie/Tank Evolution Pics
However, I've always wanted to do a tank with nothing but loads of cheesy aquarium decor. Kind of like a little underwater junkyard. Now that's my kind of tank! The kitschier, the better as far as I'm concerned. My fancy goldfish tank has a bubbling volcano with red uplight, bamboo wall, tiki statu...

My DPs are thriving in a tank with regular ol' aquarium gravel.

F8 vs. GSP
So I can't stand it any longer and I'm going to get one of the brackish puffers I've been jonesing for. I have a 29 gallon tank (fully cycled) available. I can't decide between 2 Figure Eights or 1 GSP. I find them both almost equally adorable. Can folks who have had these types clue me in to the &q...

Re: Woohoo we have our Dwarf Puffers
Congratulations! Those are really nice-looking DPs. I hope they bring you loads of enjoyment. I'm constantly amazed at how much personality these teeny-tiny fish can have. Enjoy!

Re: Which puffer for my 90l?
At the moment I am swaying towards Dwarf Puffers to start me off. How many could be kept in a 90l? The general rule of thumb is one DP for the first 5 gallons, and 3 gallons for each DP thereafter. I have 5 DPs in a 29 gallon tank. Your 90L = about 23.5 US gallons. So you could technically have 6 D...

Re: Food
My DPs get frozen bloodworms as their staple food. They also like frozen brine shrimp, and I give live blackworms once in a while if the LFS has them.
