Re: Piggy bit my fingertip off

A couple of years ago Camille ripped a nice chunk of skin out of my finger near the cuticle which I went to the doc for. Just for fun, I asked him for a copy of the paperwork and had him change the diagnosis to "Nommed by Pufferfish." I still have it around here somewhere... But yeah - do...

Re: Anyone Know of Congo or Baileyii For Sale in UK

My hubby, pufferghoti, is a puffer pusher. He encourages me to have "just one more little waffer-thin puffer fish"... I'd say you are one lucky woman! :D I am.. Except for tank-cleaning day, which is everyday..I spend a lot of time changing water, cleaning and talking to puffers..It`s a g...

Re: Anyone Know of Congo or Baileyii For Sale in UK

My Congo arrived this morning dead as a doornail!!!! I am not at all happy, and it arrived very stinky so thinking it hasn't died recently. I am trying to get a refund through today, but strangely haven't heard back from anyone yet. If I get a refund, I am heading out to get myself a Baileyii!!!! I...

Re: Buying New Tank Need Advice

Personally I'd go for the bigger used tank. Pufferghoti has nmade basic tank stands in the past for various tanks we have had, and it doesn't take a lot of effort even for some-one who is an amateur at building anything more complicated than an Ikea bookshelf. I'm sure there are plenty of youtube id...

Re: Teeth care

Plenty of other cheaper alternatives for a mbu. Clams, oysters, mussels, shell-on shrimp, to name a few. Monster fish like this are quite $$$ to feed. Possible more than a human! I'm lucky to live in an area which likes sea-food a lot and Im very lucky to have found where the local sea-food wholesa...

Re: GSP/Brackish help

Hi! After extensive research and falling for the adorable gsp, i've decided to commit and get one. I went to my lfs where they actually had gsps in a brackish tank. Amazing right? :p Anyways I went against my own plan and listened to my lfs and cycled with mollies. Once i'm fully cycled my lfs is a...

Re: Would you go back to this fish store?

I guess we've been lucky in findng a couple of LFS that are run or managed by people who are fish-keepers. Once they realised that we knew about puffers and were prepared to share our knowledge and they recipicated where our knowledge was missing vis-a-vis salt water and especially reef tanks. Findi...

Re: Identify this puffer

To me he looks more like a juvenile mbu due to the more vivid yellow colouration. Niether of my juvy fahakas were that bright yellow. However, as I haven't seen your fish in the flesh and seen how it's colours in natural light, it's size and configuration nor seen how it swims, I could be wrong. But...

Re: Puffer Community

Remember, with puffers less is often more. You really get to see personalities if you give them more space. I would go for 4, I have kept pairs of dps in 90l tanks and they burst with personality. Once the puffers realise the link between humans and food they will be out scooting round the tank eve...

Re: Puffer Community

Some puffers would live happily in groups in there, if you would consider brackish water you could do f8 puffers and bumblebee gobies as they often mix ok. In a tank as large as yours you have many possibilities. No tank is too big for a puffer lol I've had a lot of success with low end brackish wi...
