Its hard to say down to the exact reason to why this may happen, its why people say to keep puffers in a species only tank because often aggression from either side seem to appear for no apparent reason. I didn't even notice the anemone, they need to be introduced into a mature tank that is a year or older and require a ton of light plus a larger tank very difficult to keep.

People around here will never suggest keeping a puffer and a lion together.
