I don't think it's a puffer bite, they are usually a whitish circle. It is very difficult to take a chunk out of their leathery, sandpaper skin. Is it getting larger? Fuzzy? I'd just make sure his water is pristine & treat with Melafix to help with the healing.

They do appear to be the BW BBGs.
Freezing is best & then I thaw in room-temperature water with a few drops of fish vitamins (ie: Vita-Chem).
