Re: Tankmates for Congo

First off, when you're wrong you're wrong, and I was wrong. Even a well fed Joey is the picture of patience, and at the time of this writing there is only one SAE left. Secondly...the quote below probably wouldn't have bothered me as much if it were not for the snide rolling eyes emoticon, but sinc...

Boxfish/Cowfish wipeouts

Hi. Has anyone got any first hand experiences with a Cowfish/Boxfish dying within their system? Did this result in a loss of any other fish within the system? and if so what size was the fish and what size tank was it living in? Read quite a bit and there is a few that suggest that this occurs if th...

Re: Dogface Identification

Ok. So today i have been to my LFS and asked, why they are selling their Dogface as a Hush Puppy? The answer i received was that the colour was lighter than a normal DF and it was due to the spots. He did hum and ha for a bit and i think that he was shocked to be put on the spot. I don't think it ha...

Re: Dogface Identification

Yeah I now realise that. My local had a hush puppy dogface which made me ask the question. I might ask them why and see what their reasoning is

Re: Dogface Identification

Thanks for clearing that up. The reason i asked, was due to the fact i used to keep Siamese fighters (Betta Splendens) which came in a multitude of breeds i.e. crowntails etc. They all had the same scientific name but colour variations dictated its' common name, just thought the same may apply to th...

Re: Dogface Identification

I don't actually own a dogface puffer. I was just curious regarding the names in which people sell them under I.e. A colour pattern which would define a hush puppy etc.
Thanks Dave

Re: Dogface Identification

So....to confirm what you have said, Its a gimmick. As for homework, I have searched the net and couldn't find a referance stating there is no such thing, just a lot of Hush Puppy referances. As for ID, I dont have one and therefore have nothing to ID. It was just a question which i couldn't find an...

Dogface Identification

Hi there. Just a quick question on Dogfaced Puffers if anyone can help. The Dogface is sold under different names, some of which i understand and can relate to (Yellow bellied etc.) but what about the non descriptive i.e. Hush Puppy, Scooby Doo etc. Do these types actually have a noticable differenc...

Hi there

A big hello (sorry couldn't find the smiley that waves). My name is David from the UK. I have owned various freshwater tanks from an early age and as of 10 months ago, after a lot of reasearch, moved onto marine tanks. I have been lurking for the last 2 days as i was considering breaking down my ree...
