Re: Baby Ceylon Puffers on Ebay
There should be. I would never have a puffer shipped 2 day & then why in the world would the send on a Friday? I only have GF shipped 2 day, as they can handle the cooler water. I don't think it was actually shipped but the USPS lable was generated on Fri. But I do think the fish was dropped of...

Re: Baby Ceylon Puffers on Ebay
:( Was this not sent out for overnight delivery? They ship Priority Mail so it took 2 days. But I think it sat around packaged even longer. Originally when I checked USPS.com with Priority for shipping times to and from our locations it showed next day. Also aren't there oxygen tablets used for shi...

Re: Baby Ceylon Puffers on Ebay
Ceylon D.O.A. 72 hour heat pack all used up and arrival water temp at 55 degrees. Overall packaged very well. I'm just not sure how the origin sort facility got the package at 4:18 am on a Monday. Was the package mailed or dropped of at the Post Office drop box over the weekend to sit and wait til M...

If you take PP's advice see if you fish store will buy back your other fish. Some will give you 1/3 credit and you could always use that. Just keep in mind that DPs need a little extra care as you can see in the articles she posted.

Re: Why didn't snails reproduce?
Are you sure the eggs didn't hatch? Ramshorn snails are very, very tiny when they hatch. Algae wafers, green beans (canned, salt-free work great!) and fish food (flakes). Please don't give up. It takes a few weeks for the babies to be big enough to be seen. BUT, you might see them sooner if you dro...

Re: Dynamic Environments Help Fish
My puffs love their tanks...But recently I had my 3 tube light die on my 75g community so I took the light of my 55g F8 tank and put it there. I then put two smaller strip lights on his tank and he lost a bit of activity and interest in food(snails). The other day I decided to catch some pale cherry...

Re: Baby Ceylon Puffers on Ebay
20 hours...If they ship Priority Mail, USPS shows next day shipping from the seller's zip so that should be OK...But what if it goes the extra day and the box sits in a facilty or a truck somewhere. A facility might be OK. What do you think? QueenLucy, did your fish come USPS Priority Mail? For me U...

Re: Baby Ceylon Puffers on Ebay
The seller will probably notify me Monday about shipping and Ebay told me Thursday delivery. I live in OH and the forcast calls for temps on Wed 29/6 and Thur 24/8. I'm guessing the fish will be shipped USPS and my mail comes early and I will be home all day when it comes. Now should I ask the selle...

Re: New old tank!
RTR's article at Badman's is what I always recommend to other F8 hobbiest on other forums. It is a bit of a read but I think it's very concise. I also link TPF's Pufferpedia as well.

Re: Baby Ceylon Puffers on Ebay
SW is the way to go. It is okay to start them out young. How long is comfortable in BW while they are young? I'd need to pick up equiptment slowly off Craigslist. I could house the fish in a 46g and then eventually down the road move my F8 back to the 46g and keep the ceylon in a 55g. I am really l...

Re: Baby Ceylon Puffers on Ebay
They are sort of a "happy puffer" even though that is personification of a fish... typically robust and rewarding to have... :D You are killing me, man! OK, Pufferpedia says highend BW but the Ebay ad says FW; So what SG are we looking at here??? Also what is the growth rate? I a...

If this is the ad, what is their actual location? Shipping price is good but I'd want to know the actual depart location this time of year.

Re: Snail size for GSP?
Smash or crack them a bit with forcepts. I have more big snails than small ones and that is what I do for my F8.
Good luck.

+1 Can't go wrong with AquaClears when it comes to HOB filters.
If you have the room I would strongly recommennd a 29g. Check out CraigsList...There's always several whole setups on there for cheap. A larger tank is truely easier in the long run and way more enjoyable to watch.
