OK, so the answer in short is yes, your puffers will be fine with the dried corals in there. He now realizes his mistake of harvesting live corals form the ocean & says it won't be happening again. His puffers are juvies & now he realizes that they need to be seperated as they mature (soon)....

Give him a little time. Puffers can pout for quite a while, when moved to new conditions. You can try adding guarlic to it's food and/or tank water. Try Garlic Guard or Garlic Extreme.

I do believe the med may be causing the skin problem. OL, you are correct, they are 2 different parasites.

I'd forget about using meds for now & try the heat & salt method on them 1st. Use marine salt & raise the SG .002 today, if the tank's cycled properly. That's close to <1/2 cup/5gal but check w/your hydrometer to be sure.
