Re: WTB irrubesco

Charleston, they call the Irrubescos “evil as ever”... makes me wonder how much they really know about these puffs at all.

Re: WTB irrubesco

Tideline aquatics in SC had them since Nov and just sold the last male a few days ago. They don’t ship😪, but they are calling me when they get more... IF they get more. My guy just got an order placed... we will see if they actually show up. I have learned that finding them on the list doesn’t ensur...

Re: WTB irrubesco

I heard that there were some that surfaced in MA in nov, they were long gone by time I caught wind. The guy I'm working with is a puffer enthusiast and knows weather 2 or 20 survive the trip, I'll kick my musband out to make room! lol I have been working on it so long, I am dying to try and breed th...

Re: WTB irrubesco

What state you live in? I have spent two years down the throats of every human who can spell Irrubesco, and to spare you the jabber- they don't travel here often. 2015 was the last wave, I have a friend in Washington who has kept me close to the chest and has gotten confirmation they will be here fo...

Re: Schoutedeni, SAP or Irrubesco dilemma

Aww how I dream of being anywhere but the USA, not just cause of Trump... but the puffs! The U.K., France, and Australia are the only places I have spotted a single red eye red tail in YEARS...let alone the Lorteti, Borneesis, or Salivator! In 2015 the last of the commons were sold, and it seems sca...

Re: Don't Bite the Hand that Feeds You!

My Cochin didn't have his teeth yet, he was so young when he came home. So I never had a fear of his bite... plus he rubs against my finger when in tank, so I figured he was sweet... I went to feed him a snail the other day (stuck to the tip of my finger). He snatched the snail, dropped it and went ...

Re: Tank Change - Methylene Blue

The top pic you posted is indeed a true Turgidus, they have an unmistakable cave man club shape to their bodies, and the rest are all Cochins. Like I mentioned, the target changes... much more then most think. The color of the target means little. But the shape and size in comparison to the other sp...

Re: Tank Change - Methylene Blue

Lol ahh, the great target debate!!! TBH, most of the true ids are wrong. The target fades on most and can even disappear on some target species as adults. Your Cochin is stressed a little (maybe from the brackish, but at very low end I think only a long period of being in only brackish would cause s...

Re: Tank Change - Methylene Blue

The MB won't do much at tht level and length of use, however it is best to use a FW master test kit to check all parameters before you swap. The Cochins don't burrow but they do prefer sand and will appreciate the plants! Giving him a good hiding cave will also help. But tbh, I don't think there was...

Re: Tank Change - Methylene Blue

Stop!!!!! You don't have a Leirus and it won't grow no more!!! It's a Cochin (Fangs puff) they max at 4" but usually get around 3", they are lurkers and can be extremely inactive, and if you feed during daylight hours- then they aren't usually much more active because they are dusk active ...

Re: Considering moving 2 Saps to my Dwarf P tank

Neal Monks lives!!!!!!!!! Very excited to see you back, I am a big fan and love reading your input and observations!!! I would venture to guess, you surely did not have misidentified Carinotetraodons, as the Lorteti would surely have been feisty toward the saps...as PP noted!... and the other two sp...

Re: Returning after a long hiatus

Oh and PP.... I don't like your tone "what made this the best forum ever"...😜 Made? Past tense? You're being too humble, it STILL is the best puffer site today. I mean, have you ever met the lady who runs this joint? 😉 If not for the knowledge, the people make this place!!! I know we're no...

Re: Newbie Puffer Owner

Just want to add a few pennies lol big box- likely Cochin, maybe even Turgidis (I haven't seen any pics of your puff so I threw that out there as It's about the same lever of common as the Fangs) But don't worry, they are so great to have and only get 3-4" which is a good middle size! Plus like...
