Re: The secret to finding puffers...

That's a figure 8. Different than the Green Spotted, but commonly mistaken for them. Even by shops. Sometimes you'll find a Ceylon in with GSP's, although this doesn't happen nearly as often as I wish it would. Out here, they seem to throw Ceylons in with F8s and label them as "jumbo." Si...

Re: where to buy red-eye puffers or red tailed

I've been looking for Irrubescos (commonly called red eye red tails) for AGES. No luck. They occasionally come up on Aquabid, but I haven't seen any there in over a year. I have 3 different LFS keeping an eye on their ordering sheets for me too. No luck so far, and I'd accept almost any red eye vari...

Re: Diver Saves Puffer from Hook

Awesome! Crazy puffer kept puffing though! You would think it would have figured out that the diver was not a threat but was merely trying to help. I'm not sure I'd credit puffers with that level of intelligence. Whales and dolphins, yes (I've seen videos where they appear to understand humans are ...

I thought RTR said ghost shrimp ARE nutritious? That it's only brine shrimp that aren't?

Now I'm going to be checking the cruddy back tank corners at every LFS I go to. If you found a Fangs, I'm going to simultaneously be thrilled for you and unbelievably jealous!

To eat whole, yes. But when crushed, even larger snails are suitable puffer food.

Great sellers of ramshorns on eBay. I got enough there to start my own little snail colony.

Your GSP is ADORABLE!

Re: how to feed a puffer snails?

Yep, crushing has always worked for my puffs. They still chomp on things enough to get the benefit of the shell's crunch factor. I collect my snails into a small tupperware and use the back of a spoon to crush them. Gross, but effective.

Re: Shy

My DP was shy like that when I first got her. It took her a couple weeks to fully relax and settle in. IIRC my F8s were like that at the beginning too. You'll have a busy little puffer greeting you at the glass soon.

Full-grown nerites are usually fine with F8s.
