Texas are pretty common in my area (Tacoma, WA) but the funny thing is I actually dont know of anyone actually raising any... I belong to a local forum and I know most of the cichlid keepers in that forum but no Texas amongst them. Though most of us have the more unusual cichlids. I myself an ...

Re: Tank Calculators & Conversions
I really do not use any websites for calculators. I do however like phone apps, since most times when I need to get tank info I am out and about looking at used tank or something to begin with. I like to use (Android) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ml.intlfree.aquariumrechner It also ...

Welcome aboard! Fish keeping can be can be quite addictive. I have been back in the hobby for about five years after a 20+ year absence. I have wanted a puffer for over a year now after a saw a young Fahaka in the store. I finally am getting my first puffer this week, a hairy puffer. I know the more...

I looked at all the 'decor' they had available at the local stores and decoded I have some Malaysian driftwood in another tank that I will pull and use in this one. I want a very natural look so real stuff it is. I will have to post some pics... probably when my puffer actually gets here, otherwise ...

Portland is a different world from the rest of the US. My son has lived there for years now. I live in Tacoma, Washington and am only about two hours away but the whole area is much different. Even Seattle is different than Portland in the way it feels. Ive been to other fish stores in Portland but...

Yay! You won't regret it, they are awesome :D After all the reading and watching youtube videos, I really had it narrowed down to the Hairy or Arrowhead. The hairy just seemed a bit more interesting and it was available. The arrowhead just was not in any stores at the moment and I wanted my puffer....

Re: Still no way to get my arrowhead on dead food
Beautiful puffer! I am waiting for my first puffer to come in (Hairy) but I know earthworms will be a regular staple. I hope that it will not be a picky live food only type fish but I am going to try hard to get it on dead or frozen. I have to pick up some tongs to feed or I might try to tie on the ...

Im happy with the decision, now for a serious question... If I add Rogaine to the water, does it increase hair growth in a hairy puffer? Just joking!Pufferpunk wrote:Yay!
