Re: Tank Progression: 60 gallon

Yup I found the Curve on fish-streets. Its the same site that I bought a WP40, which is getting real hot lately on reefing forums.

Re: Tank Progression: 60 gallon

This thread is so long that I never bothered reading it. I saw your other post about the collection cup, which prompted me to check out this thread. Anyways, I think you will have a hard time findings reviews comparing both magnus and reef octopus because not many people have owned both. As far a pu...

Re: Snow!

No snow in seattle this year. It rains most of the time here. Snow for a few days per year. When the rain or snow does come, then I like to stay home and drink a hot cup of frappuccino next to my fire place and in front of my fish tank. Sit there all day with laptop and my guitar. Make the best of it.

Re: Marine tank no sump?

IMO LEDs shouldn't be just white and royal blue. Corals use other colors as well for photosynthesis (although small amount), such as green, blue, violet, reds, other spectrums within the different shades of white. These colors are essential for certain colored corals to keep their colors. I think th...

Re: Marine tank no sump?

all the members of my aquarium society is moving from T5/MH to LED. All my LFS for their display tank also use LED as well, maybe a few using T5. Perhaps this is a regional thing.

Re: Marine tank no sump?

you want a good skimmer, which is big and bulky. sump required now. a hob refugium might not function very well for your large system and all hob skimmers not good enough.

Re: Marine tank no sump?

bertie, i seriously think you need a sump for your tank. your system is large, and you are limiting your options of the type of tank you want. without a sump, you will have so many equipment hanging on your tank. my 46g no sump tank got lots of stuff hanging over the rim: ato, heater, 2 pumps, skimm...

Red wriggler worms would die after an hour. Those worms never buried into my sand, so its a big plus.

Re: Best way to move my tank?

I would dedicate 1 round-way trip just for the move. Concentrate the entire trip for all aquarium related stuff and procedures. Distractions might lead to mistakes or accidents.
