Unfortunately just measuring a quantity of salt to get a specific SG doesn't work. Not all salts are the same and they can also change over time as they age and are exposed to moisture. You have to test the water.

The female bettas will probably do better in their current setup compared to in a community tank. I wouldn't move them to a community tank nor would I add a DP to either tank. Oh I much prefer Edinburgh. Montreal has a reputation for some rather rude people and I haven't had any experiences that have told me differently. I hear there's some awesome smoked meat places in Montreal though I'm in Ontario, 6-7 hours away.

I've got a Nikon DSLR as does my partner. Mine was used and came with a warranty. From a reputable source I wouldn't have an issue with buying a used camera

On mine the lower teeth were much shorter than the top ones. I think they only needed the tips clipped off.
