Re: My Goldfish Aquarium
I thought with fancies it was 10 gallons per fish and 30 gallons for Commons and Koi? I had always done it that way with no huge problems but I never exceeded 3-4 fish. Well either way I have been looking at and seriously considering a 155 gallon complete setup for $400 on Craigslist. It is 48"...

Re: HI from Toronto
And I thought $10.99 was too much for a lone scrawny 1.5" figure 8 that I saw in the LFS.

Re: My Goldfish Aquarium
There are 5 fancies all less than 3 inches right now. I also have 4 Emerald Corys, 3 Rosy Red Minnows, and a Pleco from the previous owner. As I stated above I have 3 filtration systems running in this tank along with some live plants. This is the tank: (sorry for the quality as some of these pics I...

Re: Snails vs. Plants
From my experience and research they usually only go for plants that are already dead or dying/rotting.
As for your DP's you will have to wait for someone with experience with them to tell you. I am fairly new to the puffer world myself.

My 55G Goldfish Aquarium
Here is my goldfish aquarium that has been running for a while stocked with a few young fancy goldfish. It is another 55 gallon aquarium with a beautiful wood trim and stand. There are two Penguin 330 power filters running with two UG filter powerheads for maximum filtration that brings ultra clean ...

Re: Snails vs. Plants
Check this thread here: http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=29681 I posted a link there from eBay where you can literally get a hundred or so Ramshorn snails for $20 if you decide to go that route. That should definitely get you started. Variety is good as long as you avoid t...

Re: Newbie GSP Owner
I will. And my puffers are looking and acting great and the water quality is perfect and crystal clear. They were starting to cautiously greet me at the glass and I got them to eat out of my hand with a whole piece of uncooked shrimp tonight! These guys are little piranhas! They nearly tore the shri...

Recommended Online Aquarium/Fish Stores
Sorry if this has already been posted somewhere but can anyone compile together any good online aquarium fish and supply stores that they would recommend? In particular, I would like to get more FW/BW puffers in the future and I noticed that most of the LFS either don't carry puffers or only carry a...

In other words, you need to get them NOW, otherwise they'll outlive you  LOL <3 I love it! I keep seeing a black moor at petsmart, and I love him and his personality...no more tanks though = / /sigh. One day soon... I know what you mean, I was browsing around at Petsmart today looking at some ...

Re: snails
I have been having problems getting good food snails for my puffers as the aquarium stores around here are all loaded with nothing but MT Snails which I read are bad for the puffers so I will have to go to the local rivers and ponds to get some snails when the weather warms up. However, I did just g...

Re: Newbie GSP Owner
Thanks for the input as I tried to make the tank as welcoming for them as possible. Sadly the little runt passed away before he could fully benefit from treatments. I guess the transfer and isolation stressed him too much or he was already too far gone. The other two seem to be doing great and have ...
