Re: Strange swimming habits
We definitely do. I just know too many people who don't know the kind of tank Mbus require, so I always like to double check.

Re: Strange swimming habits
Awesome to hear that he'll be well taken care of. I don't think it would hurt to treat again. My puffers sometimes get them again one way or another and a 3-day metronidozole treatment gets them back on their feet, er, fins. Since you don't see any external problems, I would try that and see if it h...

Re: GSP and snails.
Any puffer except some dwarf puffers seems to be able to handle the little pond snails. Have you tried those? You can go get some for free from petco or petsmart and stick them in a milk jug. You'll have tons shortly.

Not at all. If the thread applies to your question, then go for it. If you're not sure, you can always open a new thread.

Re: Strange swimming habits
Hopefully you'll be able to upgrade. These fish need upwards of 1000 gallons when they are fully grown, and some who have owned them say they wish they could have provided closer to 5000. http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=27677&p=299873&hilit=+mbu#p299873 These fis...

Re: a neat trimming teeth idea....
A proper diet will prevent their teeth growing too long, except in the case of puffers like South American Puffers. If worst comes to worst, puffer dentistry isn't too hard, but is obviously not the preferred route if it can be avoided.

That's just fine. I has the same effect. I've had to do that with several of my puffers, and they eventually figure out how to break it by themselves.

Maybe you could just soak one or two of the bloodworms for a period of time, and stick them in with some normal ones.

Re: Setting up 80gal GSP tank
It's a hard-leaned lesson and I'm sorry for your loss. I didn't realize you had purchased from walmart, but would encourage anyone thinking of any fish to avoid them, as it gives them more of a reason to sell the fish that they keep in such deplorable conditions. I'm assuming you want to keep the ta...
