The Awesomely Amazing Mister Mushroom!
Got Mushroom to pose for some pics! Bribed with bloodworms again... After he's eaten he always chooses a patch of sand to settle down in. My theory is he's chilling and letting his dinner go down :D http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z470/Christie_ZXR/Mushroom/100_2280.jpg http://i1191.photobucket....

Re: Puffer in a planted tank?
Bertie, I have a cunning plan for stone-stealing! Take a picnic, and take the dog as a "distraction" so whilst eating our lunch, I can carefully sneak pretty looking stones into the picnic basket and everyone will be too busy looking at the cute ickle doggy to notice.... It's foolproof!! l...

Re: Puffer in a planted tank?
Oh hang on...I'm far from decided yet! Me..indecisive? I'm not sure, possibly.... lol Somebody mentioned my tank being perfect for an Axylotyl, so I'm off researching those today! I feel so intelligent :D I'm learning loads! I vaguely seem to remember axys eat plants, so it's probably totally out th...

Re: Puffer in a planted tank?
Hm, maybe a palembangs isn't such a good idea. I love the look of them, but, and don't laugh, I want to be able to watch the fish from the sofa without my glasses! (I don't always wear them in the evenings!) I'm not dislosing how close to the tank the sofa is...! I've been looking up irrebusco and f...

Anyone got experience keeping c. irrebesco in a group? Wondering what the behaviour's like and if they can be trusted together?

Re: Puffer in a planted tank?
Love the description of dutch aquascaping!! lol Well, what I had in mind for this tank was stem plants mainly, lots of vallis and hygrophila, and some amazon swords. My biorb is set up in the same way, and the swords go mental in that, so with more space, I'd love to see how big I could get them. I'...

Re: POTM April 2012 - vote now!
Sorry! Last pic is mine :D Sent it in a bit of a hurry and totally forgot to add a description. That's "Little Sunshine" as he's affectionatly known! His name's actually Aleister. I was trying to bribe him with bloodworms to pose for pics, and I only got a couple before he got wise to me a...

Re: Puffer in a planted tank?
Aw, thank you F2B, but I'm in the UK :( Apparently, C. Irrebesco can be kept with other fish! Anyone second this? I'm always wary of any puffer being touted as community. A little group of them might be an option, if it's true. Can anyone with experience with them tell me what they're like activity-...

Re: Puffer in a planted tank?
Puffers and angels, or as puffers would call them, dinner! lol Don't worry, I was thinking puffers or angels, not both together :) I'd initially planned a planted angelfish tank, but if it would be suitable for a puffer instead, a planted puffer tank would be brilliant :D I did spot the avocado puff...

Re: Puffer in a planted tank?
I've already got a fig 8, and dps I'd rather not. Hows that for fussy...lol If I was to have a puffer, I'd prefer a larger single puffer. (even though dps are teeny and cute!!) Call it 175L for now!! lol. Just wanted a few puffs to go googling on, if nothing else, I'll learn something new about a ne...

Re: Puffer in a planted tank?
Can't say I fancy the possible dentistry! In the UK it's classed as surgery, so it's a vet job. To my knowlegde, not legal to do it yourself :( Legalities aside, I'm not brave enough anyway! Will have to check, ashamed to say I can't remember the tank size!! 150-200L odd, something like that I think...

Puffer in a planted tank?
Just a bit of a whim really, I'm re-doing my biggest planted tank over the coming weeks, and I wanted to move away from tons of teeny fish to a few bigger fish. My initial plan was angelfish. Then I got thinking, I wonder if there's a FW puffer I could keep as a singleton in a planted tank? Tank won...
