Re: carinotetraodon irrubesco personality
They do need snails. Apple snails aren't good for them though as they'd just nip at it and they wouldn't get the benefits of a crunchy food. I think that as long as you had 1 male and 2 females you could do it. The tank would have to be very heavily planted though and you'd have to keep an eye out f...

Re: carinotetraodon irrubesco personality
Mine spent a lot of time exploring and they definitely begged. They were very interactive and any time they saw someone watching them they came out front. They're very nice puffers IME.

Re: Ammonia levels stuck at 0.25
Using something like Prime will cause the ammonia in your tap water to become harmless to your fish. Re: What Puffer/s should I get?
Don't monos become quite large and school? If I'm remembering correctly they aren't suitable for a 220 or if they are there wouldn't be room for tankmates.

Re: does anyone keep a cat that never goes outside?
IMO cats should be left inside or let outside with supervision. This doesn't apply to cats like barn cats that have a job outside but your basic pet cats. I think it's irresponsible to let your cat loose outside, not only for the cat but wildlife as well.

Re: Clipping beaks? How far do you go?
Aren't puffers beak pointed on purpose? Are they pointed on purpose or is that a result of normal wear? I don't think we'll ever answer that question unless a rich curious person is willing to fund a study :) Wouldn't messing how it's shaped mess up how they would naturally eat or crunch their food...
