Mexican dwarf crayfish with dwarf puffers
Does anyone have any experience with this combination? I'm setting up a tank for dwarf puffers and have been wondering if this would work. I have some in my only community tank and so far, they seem pretty harmless.

Re: Tetraodon Schoutedeni (Spotted Congo Puffer) food
Have you tried live red worms? They're bigger than bloodworms and blackworms, but smaller and easier to munch than nightcrawlers. Live ghost shrimp are a good starter, too. Just make sure to gut load them first. I've got picky puffers of my own. My big boy also likes fresh shrimp (freshwater; he won...

Abei question...
About that 4.5"-5.5" max; mine is at 7" and still seems to be growing. Has anyone here seen one bigger? He's in a 55g now and I'ld like to know if mine's just a freak or if the 8"-12" rumors I've been hearing may be true before committing to his next tank. It could be the di...

Re: New Suvatti
Awesome puff! @DDR2 What size tank you raising him in? Mine is pretty active and he makes good use of the 65B he is in. Way overkill, I know, but he is happy. He's in a 29g at the moment. When my Abei gets moved from his 55g, he'll go there. Even in the 29, if he's not moving, it's like where's wal...

Re: New Suvatti
Sometimes he sits still for a few minutes and changes colors or orientation to blend. Sometimes he comes to the front to beg. The rest of the time he's like a little hovercraft of death. Prowling and stalking.Pufferpunk wrote: โMon Aug 05, 2019 10:48 pm That's great! Mine's about 5" & a total dud. Never moves.

New Suvatti
Picked up a new potato. I've decided to call him Magua. He's about 3-3 1/2" and much more active than Pogo, my Abei puffer. As soon as he hit the bottom he started stalking a ghost shrimp. He's also eating nightcrawlers.

Re: Pogo's in his new home.
I post video on Reddit r/Aquarium and r/MonsterFishKeepers under u/leadfarmer1. A few years ago I was working part time at a lfs that was owned by a friend. We got this little guy in one day(about 3"+/-) and I wanted him. I needed another tank like I needed a hole in the head, so I didn't. It t...

Re: Pogo's in his new home.
Thank you. The veg filter above the tank is a first for me. I've done them before, but always in a sump under the tank. An added bonus is the shade it provides to that side of the tank. Pogo seems to like it, and that's what really matters.

Pogo's in his new home.
All done! All it took was a month and $800! I've doubled the space for him. Does he make good use of it you ask? No. No, he doesn't. He still spends 23hrs and 55min a day under his favorite log. ๐๐ก But that's o.k. Lurker's gonna lurk. ๐ BTW, I had the opportunity to measure him during the move. Seve...

Pogo's new tank is coming along
It's a 55g with an aqua clear 70 and an extra bit of filtration on top. The "log" on top is a 3' long, 3" wide pvc pipe with the top cut out and filled with ceramic pebbles fed by a pump hidden in the stump on the right. It's planted with pothos (I've also got some spathiphylum for it...

Re: The savage
Has anybody on here ever actually been bitten by a puffer? I'm extra cautious, i don't put my hands actually in the tanks other than my schoutedeni tank but they're only 2-3 cm at the moment! I've been bitten several times by GSP's. They were only 1 1/2"-2", but it felt like being stung b...
