Yeah lmao. It's because they live in the same area of the Congo and were both discovered by Henri Schouteden. Similarly, there is a Tetraodon Duboisi and a Tropheus Duboisi

Re: 75 gallon tank setup for dwarf puffers
Yeah definitely. Just make sure to use a species that has small babies and doesn't eat live plants. Mystery snails work well.Bbaptist1020 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 10, 2019 7:40 pm You said you use gravel because of the snails, I have gravel over potting soil. Is this ok in my 55 gallon puffer tank?

Re: Anyone know where to find a list of puffers by size?
My Duboisi and Miurus both interact with me and swim up to the glass when I come by even though they are ambush hunters. I think it's because I usually hand feed them. If you don't want a puffer that's stationary or needs plant-eating snails, I would really recommend T. Miurus, T. Duboisi, or P. Abe...

Re: Compatible? Syno. Petricolas/Spotted Congo Puffer
LOL, Schoutedeni is the Congo spotted puffer he's referring to. ;) Yeah sorry I thought that might be confusing. Synodontis Schoutedeni is a species of Synodontis catfish, Tetraodon Schoutedeni is the spotted Congo puffer. I'm saying that the Schoutedeni catfish would be the best out of its family ...

Re: Compatible? Syno. Petricolas/Spotted Congo Puffer
If you were going to go for a Synodontis I would recommend S. Schoutedeni. Most Synodontis require a very fast water flow, and African puffers (especially T. Schoutedeni) are not the most agile swimmers. S. Schoutedeni is fine with a weaker flow though, and not very territorial as for as Synodontis ...

Brackish opens up a lot more possibilities for what you're looking for, my recommendation would be a Ceylon puffer

Re: Amazon puffer tank mates
I personally haven’t tried rams but I’d say proceed with caution. The main reason for this is that they’re generally smaller than the puffers, so they may look more tempting and a bite could do more damage.

Brown Stuff on Driftwood
Hello all, I’m wondering if anyone can identify what this brown, kinda fuzzy stuff on my spiderwood is. I looked online but I didn’t see anything too similar, but I’m thinking it could be fungus or mold. It comes off whenever I move the wood and makes a huge mess, so I’d like to know what it is so I...

Re: Looking for suggestions for a solo puffer in 55g tank.
LOL, OK I was confused, too. I guess it would be best to observe the puffer 1st but of course, good luck finding one already at a shop. Know anything about a Pao palustris? I can't seem to find much information about them. Yeah I’d be really really surprised if you found one, and like Pufferpunk sa...

The pea puffers would probably nip at the amazons. I would keep a group of just amazons, and you could add either a mid sized pleco or some large, fast, peaceful characins

Re: General questions for a Fahaka puffer setup
Hmmm to be frank I'm not 100 percent sure, but you would probably need to drill a hole. What you COULD do though is put the sump physically higher than the main tank and have a pump move the tank water to the sump, then have a hole in the sump for it to fall back into the tank. That would be the opp...

Re: General questions for a Fahaka puffer setup
And for a tank that size I prefer a sump as it greatly reduces maintenance, but if you really want a canister filter the fx4 would be sufficient and PROBABLY quieter. e I see what you mean, how do you calculate the carious volume then? such as flow rate out of the tank to the sump, the required siz...
