Re: HELP! pea puffer is not right...
quick update : seems slightly better by being a little more active. Still not interested in eating yet. Stomach is not sunken in either. Physically looks fine. Did a WC and added some Kordon fish protector as well. I'm going to soak some frozen bloodworms in garlic guard and metronidazole tomorrow ...

HELP! pea puffer is not right...
This started last night with my big girl. My wife gave her One Small snail from my breeding tank early in the night and she ate it. When I got home, an hour-ish before lights out she was hanging out near the surface. Not floating or on her side or any weird position, just sort of looking up at an an...

Re: Best filter for single Pea in 10g?
I have 2 sponges (hydro pro-IIs) in my 10G with 2 DPs (females) & 7 pygmy cories and my nitrates are always <5. I also have a ton of plants.

piscivorous puffers' teeth?
Do these types of puffers (ex-congo puffers) have similar teeth issues to ones that primarily eat crustaceans? The only thing I have found is that their teeth grow slower. Since they eat mainly fish, and still have those puffer chompers, I would assume you would still supplement their diet with shel...

Re: aragonite vs african cichlid sand?
it's not live rock, it's basically a skeleton of old corals. It seems pretty dead, but will also be cleaned VERY thoroughly before hand. If there is anything left over after I clean the crap out of it maybe it'll help me cycle when it dies off.

Re: aragonite vs african cichlid sand?
Thanks! I never noticed this before but the Eco-complete African Cichlid sand(s) does contain a good amount of aragonite. I just don't know how much. This was the one I wanted cosmetically (fine black/white sand mix). Now I know it can help me biologically as well. There will also be holey rock and ...

aragonite vs african cichlid sand?
What is the big difference and what would be a better substrate for a low-end brackish setup for a Figure 8? I'm also looking for something that is Not super white, something with a more natural/darker appearance.

Re: Future Sabahensis setup
Since the Sabahensis is a lost cause, unless I get lucky (which is Never), I think a Figure-8 would be a good step up. I get a slightly larger puffer and get some experience with brackish water. Even though I get mixed opinions on tanks and attitudes, I feel these guys will give me that personality ...

improved way to find pics/vids
If I was tech savvy I'd love to help. Was wondering if one of the mods or tech guys can make it easier to view individual's pictures. Instead of finding a specific name of an album (with no search feature) can we maybe make a link from their personal profile that goes to any of that individual's pic...

Re: Future Sabahensis setup
so it is that kind? that one must workout! What are you thoughts on spotted congo puffers (tetraodon turgidus)? There's a realllly old thread on this site about them. Just looking for something current. I have read they aren't very active. Also, what about targets puffers (tetraodon leiurus)? I have...

Re: Future Sabahensis setup
lol, that's a fatty. What kind is that? *Is that the "Bronze/Golden Puffer"-Auriglobus modestus? They seem to look so different from pic to pic. At first I didn't like them cause they didn't have that puffer-look but apparently that's not the case. What are your thoughts on these? (whether...

Re: Future Sabahensis setup
I do like that puffer, has similarities to GSPs too, but I forgot to mention I'd rather not go SW. Any other FW or low-end brackish ones you could think of?

Re: Future Sabahensis setup
so this really is more of a dream tank then...now i'm sad. Could always go back to my idea of a couple figure eights, but I want a good medium sized puffer (~6", active, not a lurker, and not an aggressive monster like a Fahaka)
