Re: 2 puffed gsp puffers!
You should be showing some nitrate if those tests were before the WC. Really follow the directions close on the nitrate bottle and shake for the full time thy say, this is the biggest mistake with nitrate tests (I've done it myself). Your live rock is not enough for a tank that size. Generally speak...

Re: No More Live Food
Instead of crays try feeding mussels, clams, and crab with shell on. You can buy them frozen in bulk for a moderate price and they will have the same effect.

Definitely do 2 60-70% partials split through out the day not only two hours apart. If you do two real close together then you have 22 hours where non are being done and the ammonia can rise.
Do you have LR in the tank? Was that LR cured? What are your trates and trites?

:flame: Light a fire? Man, this stokes the original and has the boilers steaming! Plans really are in the works and if I could have kept to my schedule this would have been done already, I usually get some down time this time of year but so far that hasn't happened. It sounds like Myaj and I are goi...

Re: What do you do with deceased puffer?
I'll sound harsh here but, I put them in the freezer in multiple plastic bags until trash day and then they go in the trash. I know it adds plastic to the environment but a majority of our trash is incinerated and turned to energy. I have difficulty burying a puffer because I have dogs, tracking hou...

Re: vitamin water soaking??
Yes, that's where I go in my big marine tanks and I still soak food in garlic at least once aweek for the immune system boost. I noticed more vibrant colors on my softies too.

Re: help cure GSP ick please :(
Ich is best cured by bringing the water SG up and bringing the temp of the water up to speed the life cycle. Please refer to this article and follow the directions carefully and exactly. Medications are a very poor choice to use with puffers and really do increase the mortality. http://www.thepuffer...

Re: Aquarium Sink
The prey/predator response has got to be terrifying for those fish every time someone turns on the water or pours something in the sink.....

Re: depression?
Puffers are solitary fish so the loss of a tankmate really wouldn't cause "depression" as we would define it. They have changes in behavior due to changes in environment and for your GSP the removal of a tankmate was a big change.

Re: anyone have a good remedy for getting rid of mucus?
The ritual of a tequila shot with salt and lemon always did it for me. Also, we are nature lovers here, if you're going to take a steamy shower use only cold water and take a friend.
