Re: Python Water Changer?
Worst case, you'll have to go online and buy an adapter from python or someone that carries them. If your pressure is low (a problem I've dealt with) , make sure all air is purged from the hose. Start at the tank and lift the hose so air is forced towards the faucet until it's out. Also large debris...

Re: Python Water Changer?
Mine doesn't fit either. You'll have to buy an adapter. You'll need one with a female end that fits your faucet and a male end for a regular size garden hose. I found one at Lowe's, but home depot or any other big box hardware store should have one. Take the faucet connector and diffuser tip from yo...

Re: Fresh/frozen market shrimp
I'm late to this party, but I've had the best luck finding live, fresh, and frozen seafood at the Asian market. If you've got one in your area it's definitely worth a look. Mine carries all sorts of goodies. Squid, octopus, shrimp, prawn, clams, oysters, scallops, mussels, cockles, snails, and just a...

Re: What is wrong with people! some should not keep fish
I call it willful ignorance. Being ignorant of something doesn't mean you're stupid, just that you're un-informed. Being willfully ignorant means you're not only un-informed, but that, when you're informed you choose to remain wrong for whatever reason. I liken it to people who are racist, bigoted, ...

Never been to Greenville, but Maryville is like a maze. Terrible traffic, nothing to do but go to Knoxville. You probably made the right call. I hear Greenville is nice.

Oh,and I have other fish, too. A 8" Polypterus senegalus, a 14" peacock eel, 3 lg pictus catfish, and an African knife fish in one tank. And I just brought home a small figure 8 puffer that needed re-homing from a customer at work.

Where are my manners?!
Hello from Knoxville, TNBeen visiting the forum for a couple of months and just realized I haven't introduced myself. Been keeping fish for almost 30 years. Started with a goldfish in a bowl when I was 9 and moved to cichlids when I was 12. I've kept central American, south American, and African cic...

protein skimmer
Anyone with experience using protein skimmers on brackish tanks? I'm setting up a tank for a figure 8,(not my first) and while I've used them for all my. s.w., I've never done so for brackish. Just curious of how useful it would be for low end brackish.

Re: reef ready for freshwater?
Sumps/overflows don't usually work well with CO2. All the water movement pulls the CO2 right out of the system. Canister is the way to go for planted tanks, in my experience.
