Offer different meaty food beside prawns, such as live worms. I fed red wiggler worms to my former 2.5" congo.
Also you may never see more growth from your congo in captivity.

Good try. I hope this does not stop you from trying another puffer in the future.

Re: What puffer is good with other fish?

Re: Tank Advice
I would like to do live food, but what type of a setup would I need to support just one puffer? I was looking on YouTube and some of the fish there were having hundreds of fry - I don't think even a puffer could eat all them! :P Do you mean what kind of setup do you need to setup you need to produc...

Re: south american puffers in a community tank
Aquarium Paradise did not give me a good impression when I visited and their prices were very steep indeed. How much are they asking for the SAPs? The ones I see up north is $10-15, but I'd pay the premium price so that I don't have to go around looking for the fish I want :p

Re: Fahaka tank diary
If your puffer digs into the sand, any loose plants might be uprooted in that area. Also if your puffer grow larger and goes into hunting mode and moves things around the tank, then some plants might be uprooted as well. Try to get your plants to establish a strong root system in order to lessen the...

Re: south american puffers in a community tank
How hard is it to obtain SAP's in Western Washington state if anybody knows? I have a 125 gallon tall tank I'd like to try a pair or so in. If you posted that earlier, I would have recommended my bro to give you his SAP in Kent, WA for free. He did not take good care of his SAP and only fed soft fo...

Re: Tank Advice
If possible try to get the larger of the two tanks for cleaner water quality in between water changes; however, only if the tank can fit your intended area. I wouldn't sacrifice more needed living space for a congo's larger tank. The increased 15g water isn't much of a difference IMO.

Thats so soon Jay. I heard you got 2 of these puffs when they were babies from Cory. If you ever want to do a trade-in, the only place I know that would do the trade-in and usually have room for more fish... is Midway fish store in Des Moines. I donated my guy for to them instead of doing a trade-in...

Re: Spider Eye Toby Puffer (Canthigaster amboinensis)
its risky, always will ve risky even if ecerything looks fine for months or years.
worst case scenario, you get one dead puffer or you rehome one of them.
easier to give advice rather than taking your own.

Re: Terrance's 46g Mixed Reef Build
Update: I sold all of my trumpets, all zoas, and hammers. The longer I'm reefing, the narrower my interests become. I'm liking motion corals - euphyllias like hammers, torch, and frogspawn. I sold the hammer coral because its the branching type. I'm looking at wall hammers. I also have a strong inte...

Re: Tank Progression: 60 gallon
I generally just clean the collection cup weekly & the pump/impeller every couple of months. The skimmer body gets cleaned about every 3-4 months. It is good to look into the life of the pumps & the ease of repair/replacement. Thanks. It was more so the whole skimmer body and then the pump ...
