Re: Stubborn Porcupine

If you get a tank divider/ trap in a net then you can separate the porky away during feeding time for a few sessions.

Re: Stubborn Porcupine

Also try starving him for a few days as it can be an effective way to get a picky puffer to try new foods. Also putting a piece of shrimp on a string and making it "dance" in front of the puffer can often get them interested enough to strike.

Re: Skinny puffer, weird belly

I cannot see the mouth well enough from the picture, how are the incisors? That is a much softer diet than I use for these fish. He was getting a diet of 90% snails until the planaria outbreak decimated my snail population, so he recently has been getting 25-50% snails and the rest is the aforement...

Re: Ailing Figure 8

Sorry for your loss, you should try again as it was an honest mistake and keeping puffs is well worth the effort. One thing for future reference and for anyone who reads the this thread later is to always double check that the rock is aquarium safe. There are a few things you can do to test or ensur...

Re: found and lost

They have one more still that just came in this week but you are on the wrong end of WI for it to help :( Judging by the way this one acts and eats, the first one definitely had something wrong from day 1. Ya I am in the lower region of WI, I also don't got space for another tank = [ post pictures ...

Re: Heat Intolerant Puffer Ich Treatment

I looked around and found some research information about this stuff from a database available through the University of Wisconsin-Madison, sodium chloride in low doses over an extended period (14+) of time has been shown effective in removing the cysts from the host. Combine that with daily water c...

Re: found and lost

well, good news... the store had a second one that they get in a couple weeks ago, I talked to them about it and they gave me this one at 50% off(which is great since they didn't have to give me anything per their policy!!!). :D That's really cool of them! Also total score, I have been wanting an a...

Re: Camille died.

I am so sorry, she sounded like an amazing wet pet. I would go for another Toby personally maybe find a different species instead of another orangetail to honor Camille but not replace her. (I am not suggesting you try)

Re: Stubborn Porcupine

I see you're in the States, so getting Jungle - Parasite Clear should be easy enough (we can't get it in the UK, I have a friend post it from Florida) Rather than drop the fizz tabs in the tank, just break a small piece off and soak the food in it, like you're doing with the garlic If you can't fin...

I don't have a marine tank but I believe a good substitute would be filter floss.
