Re: New Oscar in the house

Your 72 bow will be fine. They really don't swim around much once they get older. They sort of stay in one spot or glide around. As long as you maintain everything (I know you will) a 72 would be awesome.

Re: Please idenifty this worm

The head gives it away, it's planaria. Completely harmless to snails and fish. It just means there are too many nitrates (wastes, food) in the tank. Planaria is a constant battle for a lot of snail keepers, has happened to me many times. Snails produce so much waste that it's hard to keep up with th...

Black bellies don't always mean stress...they turn black for numerous reasons.

This is a great forum for betta owners, just ignore the few people who tend to put them in glass vases without filters.

DON'T PANIC! It's no big deal :) Very likely harmless (along with the other nasties you can't see in your water)

Never ship a puffer for more time than overnight!

Honestly, (and I'm a bit biased) it would be safer if you drove for a couple of hours with extra water than to ship when you feel uneasy!

Re: New Oscar in the house

Rapps seriously has good bumbles! Looks just like another fish I know  Did you decide on the name? You goin gangsta? I know it looks like a certain 'Capone' we both know of. I compared the two in side by side pics and there is a family resemblance for sure. Very likely from same batch and prob...

Sounds like he will be ok. They can live for awhile out side the tank. Several hours. Never flush a fish without first putting it back in the tank! He may have dried out a little (the equivalent to us getting sunburned). Perhaps put in some aloe or stresszyme...or what ever it's called!

Lol! That is funny! It's like he's making out with it!

I saw a glimpse of the tank and its not that underdecorated (to me). However, I would put in more because I am an aquascaping hoarder.

Re: Have you got a 5-6" GSP?

If you cook a lot like me then keep an eye on the temp of the tanks. You would be amazed how cooking, especially in summer, could affect tank temps. Particularly in small tanks. One year I had to use fans to keep the temps within normal. As a precaution I tend to keep bubblers in all kitchen tanks t...

I know another forum that just did pic of the month, as long as it's aquatic. Could we do that? Everyone seems to post pics of our Puffers in other posts!

Re: HELP PLEASE...ASAP... GSP: red swollen lips, thin, ect

I'm very skeptical of this set up and these numbers. Do you have any pics of the puffer? What kind of test kit? Are you testing before or after wc? How are you mixing salt?
