I'm sorry to high jack this tread, but the articles linked don't mention anything about krill. The first one even lists it as a possible food, both under frozen and freeze dried.
Is this something specific for porcupine puffers or puffers in general?

Re: keeping Tetraodon Schoutedeni
The thank they'll end up in is around 170l or 45 gal so that should be fine for 2 puffers and some dithers fish. They've been in the 15 gallon quarantaine tank for 25 days now, it's going fine. There have been some conflicts, mostly some tail flaring and mock attacks. I've only seen 2 or 3 fights wh...

Re: Ich or not?
Can you get your hands on a syringe to inject them with? Yeah I kinda feared that would be the answer, but I guess that's probably the best solution. Anyways thank you for the answer! I admire the way you're always ready to help and advise people and basically keep this place running by yourself!

Re: Ich or not?
A few drops will do. Feed only medicated food for 3-5 days. https://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/library/hospital/internal-parasites-prevention-and-treatment/ They aren’t really keen on the medicated krill, almost all of it ends up on the bottom, where they’ll pick at it. I think I spoiled them to ...

Re: Ich or not?
Tomorrow they fish will have completed the 10 day heat and salt treatment. I can’t see any traces of ich remaining, so hopefully It’ll stay that way. But I’ve got an additional question, one of the animals seems to stay a bit more skinny then the other puffer, I’ve been handfeeding the animals so I ...

Re: Ich or not?
Would an UVC filter also be beneficial?
Off course on top of the salt and heat method, not on it's own...

Re: Ich or not?
So far they seem to be reacting well to the treatment, still eating well although they seem a bit more aggressive/active with the high temp.
But that also might be due to the fact that they are a bit more settled in off course.

Re: Ich or not?
Looks like it. Yeah, try the heat/salt & large (80%) WC every other day. Why no substrate? I never use substrate in a quarantine tank, makes it a lot easier to clean and maintain. The aquarium they'll end up in has a sand substrate, so hopefully they won't be in here for long. Is there any part...

Ich or not?
Today I noticed 2 white dots on one of the puffers in my quarantine tank. Here are 2 pics of the dots, I’m thinking it’s ich but I’d like a confirmation, it’s been 8 years or so since I last had anencounter with it. http://i.imgur.com/caUOX04l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PIGixJOl.jpg Should I start with ...

Matt's Spotted Congo puffers
So today I picked up my 2 Tetraodon Schoutedeni. The shop believed these to be a male and female, but that off course remains to be seen. Some quick pictures in the cup I used to transfer them after acclimatising: Puffer 1: https://i.imgur.com/qWnqf7Rh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/0kQFYAth.jpg Puffer 2: ...

Re: keeping Tetraodon Schoutedeni
Would a 15gallon tank suffice to quarantine 2 puffers if I add a divider and filter over purigen with if necessary daily water changes?
It’s the biggest tank that I currently have empty, I’d prefer not to buy another aquarium just to use a couple of weeks…

Re: keeping Tetraodon Schoutedeni
I buy earthworms from Walmart weekly. How do they know the sex? I'm not certain, I'll ask when I go to pick them up. It's a store that gets them in a few times a years, they told me they could sex them. They specialise in oddballs and rare fish and have built a pretty reputable image in the region,...
