Re: Puffer crisis, please help!
See PP's signature. U can change the water however often u wish. Just make sure the salinity and temp is the same. If they are not used to large volume change, do a few 50%-70%. imo dun have to wait a few days in between. I usually do at least 90% on my puffer tank with no ill effect. Mine's easier ...

Re: help me save red-eye puffer!
Looks like a borneo I had some time ago. Eyes looked the same as mine so I think that's normal. They are very aggressive though.

Re: Puffer ID
Thanks Corvus. I can never understand why in the world would they want to eat them.. I mean there are so many things out there that are tasty but those people choose to get kicks out from them. I saw culinary show and they cost upwards of $1k for a fish..

Puffer ID
Hi! It's labelled as China Puffer Fish at my Lfs.. And here, we are notorious for wrongly labelled puffer. Looks like a fugu to me. The 1st pic is lifted of a website where they raise puffer for consumption.. "idiots"..... They are raised in a FW environment. Is it truly FW?

IDK.. I will probably skip largish fish for the time being.Arny wrote:If he's the width of your tank I'd give him to them. Sorry it must be such a hard decision to give him away. Will you be able to go and visit him? You could get a fahaka to replace him.

Just for info. The Aquarium is rather large. Honestly I am pretty happy they are willing to adopt him. Yes, I am able to visit him.. It just a matter of whether I can find him in there..
