please help me rekindle my passion

I'm wondering if you guys have moments like I'm having now? And if so, what helps you get through them? (I'm hungover and tired so please forgive the ramble) Though I try hard to give my fish the life it needs and wants, the amount of time and effort I put into my fish tank very often seems to be in...

Ah that's a shame :/

Re: Red slime in complex set up

I've already got all the kit so I'm thinking of going ahead with the freshwater - looking marine tank for a while! :p It'll be a funny sight but should be okay, right? I bought an adhesive but just realised it isn't suitable for natural rock! BAH! Plus it's 'naturally flexible' - Unsure about whethe...

Re: Red slime in complex set up

Thank you for the advice! I REALLY REALLY REALLY want live rock but (at the risk of rustling feather I must be honest) I'd feel bad about it if it's shipped from depleting reefs for something not essential. One of my many projects which I've thought about and then trash-canned is artificial LR and u...

Meh. I'm no expert. Would have done it anyway as puffers seem to like crevices to hide in. Slate is cheap and affords plenty

Re: Red slime in complex set up

1) WOW!!! 2) Thanks! Do you reckon I could do it with an acrylic brush? Might be easier to get into the little difficult places. I've heard it normally keeps the stuff away for a couple of months - is that right? Very excited as I'm going to be decorating the tank with a bunch of slate I've ordered....

Re: Red slime in complex set up

Hmm...
How would you manage it?
I can't view your gallery at the moment for some reason but I imagine your tanks have decor with a lot of caves and hidey holes?
Would you take apart the lot each time you treated?

SW.
Great! What happens to the slime? ie. Does it dissolve, detach from the rocks, or just die?

Red slime in complex set up

I have a problem with red slime in my current set up but treat by wiping down whatever needs wiping down because my set up is rather simple at the moment. but, after viewing some stock footage of wild puffers, I would like to make complex rock formations in my tank this would mean there would be (mo...

Re: From filthy rocks to shiny new decorations

Thanks! Hope so! Slow progress with the cleaning but effort free as I'm just letting it soak. There are some jagged tunnels in the rock which I might fill in with sealant. They are too small for the fish anyway and might be a pain in the a** to clean out If this works I'll be sorted for decorations ...

They are very much like this but dirtier and a bit more interesting and complex in shape
