Re: Crayfish species
I wouldn't feel comfortable declawing a cray to feed to my puffer. I had researched breeding marmocreb(sp?) Cray's for feeders. I just don't have the space currently. Wouldn't cost too much to setup and they do breed prolifically. Any that are too big to use as feeders you shouldn't have an issue se...

You should be fine. From what I gather softies don't taste very good and they don't have the crunchyness our puffers love.

Re: Valentini puffers
Not a valentini but my gsp will tolerate everything but feather dusters. The retracting motion when he gets near drives him nuts and he attacks.

Re: Dwarf puffer tank mates!
Omg that is adorable. Not familiar with it but as long as it is faster than the puffs you should be OK. What size tank are you working with. The SAEs get big. Well respectively to a tank that 5 dps would be in.

Re: White bump on DP, won't eat
+1 is the anus clear? The bump itself looks to be a mm behind the anus. Are there any other bumps? Not sure why it originated but the placement would make the fish feel awkward moving is caudul fin probably why its acting off. It appears to be healthy otherwise, not emaciated in the least. I would m...

Re: Welch's 30g Long Planted.(stalled) and 6.5g bowfront
Carpet is filling out with no issues. I do need to fill out the scape some more. Dealing with a bad blue green algea problem but I think the light is the factor here. Too low a light and the plants aren't out competing for the nutirents. Will definitely post as this progresses.

+1 to the above no need to gravel vac areas that have roots. 25% wc should be fine if your not using ei ferts.

Re: Filteration advice
If you are going heavily planted you shouldnt have an issue with oxygen. If you have the appropriate amount of light, ferts, and co2 you should have pearling on your plants. This pearling is oxygen bubbles. This will only occur when the water column is saturated and the excess oxygen is then pearling...

Re: Welch's 30g Long Planted.
Just a quick update. Filtration was moved to a canister(finex px360), inline diffuser (ista max mix), and a diy inline heater( 1 and 1/2" pvc, with a 3/4" uniseal and 100w ehiem jagger). Topped off with glass Lilly pipes. Only thing left is to get my bml 6500k light. http://i46.photobucket...

Live black worms are a delicacy for dps or any fish for that matter. If you havent
already I would recommend soaking the food in prazi to make sure they don't have interbal parasites.
