Re: red eye puffers in blackwater conditions
I would just like to know where you find them! When you do, please let me know.

Do red-eyes have to deal with tooth growth?
I know the more common DP (carinotetraodon travancoricus) does not have the usual teeth issues that other species of larger puffers have. Is this also true for their red-eye counter parts?

acclimating new GSP to full marine
I'm not getting one yet, just planning ahead. I have a 36G bowfront that I'd like to eventually use for one. However since most places here (I think it's usual) sell GSPs in FW it will have to be a slow acclimation. The plan is to already have my 36G cycled and kept running. Maybe with some green ch...

your choice: Ceylon or GSP???
Just wondering what your opinion on them is? Other than a little size difference, what is so different about them?

Re: HELP! pea puffer is not right...
UPDATE: Over last weekend I Finally noticed her get excited and come to the front. She sort of picked at some food. Then the end of the weekend I had her eating some worms (live black worms & frozen blood worms). The only catch is that she is taking her sweet time to stare the food down first, w...

Re: HELP! pea puffer is not right...
sorry, meant should I continue with the salt? Not increase the content. I've tried all her favorites. She's said no to snails, frozen blood worms and garlic, and even live black worms. Maybe I'll get some live brine shrimp later this week.

Re: HELP! pea puffer is not right...
She still won't eat (still looks fine, even her belly)...do you think more salt will help? or just let her be? how long can they go without food?

Re: HELP! pea puffer is not right...
Would the Epsom salt affect anything else in the tank, like my cories, shrimp, or plants?
Update! Came home from work and she was a lot more active. Also No heavy breathing! She still didn't eat anything, but I'll take it. Progress!

Re: HELP! pea puffer is not right...
Temp is fine, 76 degrees. From what I've found it's epsom salts. I have to go to the grocery store anyways so I'll pick some up, maybe even some peas as a last resort. I actually never see them poo. Every once in awhile I see a small lumpy red-ish thing and used to think it was a dead/eaten shrimp b...

Re: HELP! pea puffer is not right...
Thanks Myaj. I'm trying not to panic. I have a QT setup ready to go if I need to but I just don't want to cause any more stress. Already did the WC. Everything else in the tank is normal and good. The thing is she looks perfectly healthy and I know a sign of IPs is a sunken stomach. She doesn't have...

Re: HELP! pea puffer is not right...
Forgot you guys can't see my tank info on this site. The 10G tank has been up and running for roughly a year and a half. I've had the puffer for about a year with no problems at all. Parameters are 0,0,<5ppm, pH is ~7.2, water is mildly hard. I do ~1/3 WC weekly and dose with Prime, as well as Excel...

Re: HELP! pea puffer is not right...
well that didn't work. Didn't seem interested at all. I even tried another snail and a live blackworm. Nothing seems worse, but it's obviously no better...I'd rather not syringe feed it. I'd have to pick up some clove oil first. Is it easy to get? I figured I didn't need it with pea puffers cause yo...
