Whilst looking to buy some Pimafix and Melafix online I came across some blurb from API. Where Melafix rapidly repairs damaged tissues fins etc etc and pimafix treats for internal and external bacterial infections, fungus etc.... It then goes on to say that Pimafix has been formulated to work in con...

That is a beautiful setup TAN, When I see pictures like that it really makes me seriously consider setting up a marine tank.

Try pre-soaking the food in some aquarium water for a while before you drop it in, it will sink straight away and you'll avoid them taking in air bubbles

My God, I wonder what the weekly cost in both cash and man hours is required to maintain that. You have to admire that level of committment though.

Sounds like typical territorial behaviour, only experience I have had of that is Oscars, put 2 in a tank and you can guarantee after a few months one will become dominant and the other will have the crap ripped out of him, with several Oscars one doesn't seem to be singled out. Settled then i'll sen...

Crazy, yeah maybe a little.

You read that bit about sorting them out into sizes so they don't pick on each other. Almost sounds like he's housing multiple fahakas in tanks i'll ask him what tank sizes and a few other questions. I'll setup a fake email from my work and see what I get back. No risk.

I read this article earlier tonight, he talks about 40 adults.

Quote"How do I feed the puffers? All my 40 truculent adults eat up to 2 lbs. of defrosted mussels or shell-on prawns instantly; I feed them every other day"

He must have an absolutely massive setup to house all of them.

I totally agree with CPSF, I wouldnt worry about him not using his tail at the moment, they dont use it like other fish plus hes in a new envoronment and will need time to adjust. I would concentrate on sorting him out with the proper tank setup. You dont want him unleashing the puffer fury on your ...

Sounds like that fish shop wanted rid of him or, he is a brackish puffer, you should read the setting up a brackish tank topic in the brackish puffers section. That other tank doesnt sound big enough to house him for life but its better than him being in a community tank.

Ever since I first saw an Mbu I wanted one but after reading all the info on here and researching as much as I can on them I could never justify getting one. Housing one in a tank where they could only just turn around or the tank is only 2 or 3 times the length of the fish just doesnt seem fair and...

A LFS had a nice big fahaka in a few months ago, he looked about 15" to me, he was in a small holding tank though and on the couple of occasions I saw him he was just sitting at the front of the tank with his back to it. A big muscular looking fish though. He was £120 so hopefully he's now in ...
