Re: What's your puffer's name?
I name my puffers after hurricanes. My very first was a GSP named Hugo who lived for 13 years. My Hawaiian White spotted (who unfortunately passed a couple of weeks ago) was named Ike. My new Fiji orangetail is named Camille.

Re: Developing Relationship with Puffer
I have a few friends of mine who either have had, or currently have puffers of one type or another over the last several years, and from what I've seen I'm absolutely convinced that all puffers have the capacity to form a bond with their owners. I had a GSP for about 8 years, and although it took hi...

Re: Here is my 3 month old gsp
Looks good, man. Didn't see any stress lines on him or anything, he looks happy, healthy and busy checking out his tank, which is a good thing because puffers are inquisitive and curious by nature. When I had my green spotted puffer, something as simple as a shiny Hershey kiss wrapper would literall...

If I could puff up like that it would probably be part of my wake-up routine too, lol. Awesome fish!

Re: Hello from Chicago
Nice to see some other people from Chi town on here; I don't live there anymore but I grew up in Elmhurst. You'll love your GSP if you don't already - I had one for 8 years and he was easily one of the best pets I had with his personality and all. Once you get him in the bigger tank he should start ...

Re: Greetings from Southern Indiana.
I acclimated my GSP to about SG 1.018 when he was about 4 1/2 inches long, which he lived in for the rest of his life; about 4 more years.

Re: Greetings from Southern Indiana.
My old GSP lived a good life. I got him from my sister after she had him for 3 years, and I had him for about 8 years when he died. There was nothing wrong with the water, and he wasn't injured or sick, so I do believe he died of old age - something a lot of puffs mis-labeled as freshwater cannot cl...

Greetings from Southern Indiana.
Thought I would introduce myself as the latest addition to TPF. My name is Gary and I'm a 30 year old computer techie. I've been keeping fish, mostly cichlids, for a long time but two months ago I set up and cycled (properly, I might add) a marine tank specifically for a puffer. The water conditions...
