Trapdoor snail babies!
So I was feeding a Japanese Trapdoor Snail to Ramses yesterday, and as he was brutally tearing it apart, I saw a sack with what looked like baby snails. I netted the partially demolished adult snail and removed the sack. They are livebearers and I was able to squeeze about 10 pea size or smaller sna...

Re: Children make me smile...
Nah, not like a full report. I remember in preschool we had to do have our parents do the research, and send us with an index card of a few facts on an animal that our teacher helped us share. I had zebras. Good times.

That's awesome. You could have them pick a puffer from the pufferpedia and do a report on it lol.

Re: Just got some GSP, joined to learn more. (:
Welcome to the forum! Those are nice looking puffers, and very crisp pictures. To sum up everything, make sure those GSPs get acclimated to brackish water if they aren't already in it. A good temperature is 76-78 like sevenyearnight described. I would avoid glass thermometers as they can mistake the...

Re: Older dog scared of new kitten?
My wife and I have rescued animals for years, and this is fairly normal behavior for established animals when a new animal is added to the situation. My dogs have had the same problem, but never with a new puppy. Cats, skunks, etc., lead to that kind of behavior occasionally though. Eventually they ...

Re: MBU Puffer drifting...
Lol, I believe you about the instructions. I don't know what to tell you about the epsom salt, but I would definitely get some praziquantel or metronidazole to treat his IPs. Just soak his food in a solution of it and you should be good to go. Increased temperature doesn't affect IPs that I know of,...

Re: Canister question!
I just noticed you said it was going to transition to BW and then SW. In that case, a sump would be a good idea IMO, but isn't an absolute necessity on that size tank if you keep up on your water changes. I'm sure there are some who would disagree with me though.

Re: Canister question!
You don't need a sump for freshwater if you have good filtration. I like to save money, and have used the aquatop filters from eBay without any problems in the past years. Go with a known brand if you want to play it safe. The rule of thumb is 10x the gph as the gallons in your tank. So, with my Fah...

Re: MBU Puffer drifting...
Yes, they are tropical fish and do prefer warmer water, but what you described was the equivelant of 86 F, which is the highest you could go when treating for ich, and even then it can cause problems. You are better to stay below 80 F. See http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Fre...
