What's the hardest thing you've ever done for your tank?
For me it would be doing water changes with a broken hand. >.>

Question about pest snails
Every time i put pest snails in my tank for my puffer they never ever come out of their shells to move around. Also, they always end up going missing from their shells. Im pretty sure my GSP is just slurping them out but i was wondering if there was any reason they wouldnt be moving around any? Coul...

Re: whats the worst thing a lfs has told you?
I was told "You could go home right now and set up your other tank and itll be cycled fully by tonight." This same guy also told me he was getting an alligator from a friend of his in Florida that breeds his own...

Re: What's your puffer's name?
My little GSP's name is Smudge. All the other puffers at the LFS were just laying around while he was attacking a smudge on the glass. Bought him and aptly named him Smudge. =]

Re: Question about rocks from a river.
Thanks guys! It was an amazing find! Right beside the rock i took there were about 4-5 much smaller rocks of the same type. Probably softball size instead of the 25 pounder i pulled out.
Xray, you're correct. It's an emerald green cory.

Re: How to feed my GSP while on vacation?
He's only about 1 inch, minus the tail. I put in about 30 pest snails (which i needed anyway) today and i'll stock a bunch of shrimp the day before i leave.

Re: Question about rocks from a river.
I've come to the conclusion that it's impossible to get pictures of Smudge with a normal digital camera. Gonna have to break out the DSLR so i can just snap away. Anyways, here are a few pictures of the tank, my gobies, and Smudge. The tank is simple, but i like it. If all goes as i plan, Smudge and...

How to feed my GSP while on vacation?
I'll be going on vacation for a solid week and i was wondering how i should go about feeding my puffer while i'm gone. I figure i'd put loads of pest snails in the tank with him and around 8-12 ghost shrimp. There are plenty of places in my tank for the ghosts to hide, so Smudge won't eat them all a...

Re: Question about rocks from a river.
I ran the rock through my dishwasher without soap, of course, lol. Got all the spots i couldn't get with my scrub pad/shower head. Looks good in my tank. It's a nice tan color now instead of a dark brown/green. I really enjoy it. Had to sacrifice some driftwood but the rock definitely makes up for it!

Re: Question about rocks from a river.
Right on. I read that you could use peroxide too, or vinegar. I got pretty lucky to find that piece. It was buried almost completely along the beach under a bunch of mud/clay.

Question about rocks from a river.
I went to the lake today that forms off one of the larger rivers around me. While i was there i looked for new rocks to add to my tank and i found a really large, holey rock. I brought it home and cleaned it up. I was wonder how i should go about disinfecting it and possibly bleaching or getting rid...
