Re: Hand feeding my GSPs
It can be a pain in the butt as they get bigger and they associate your hand with food when trying to clean the tank. Keep that in mind, the bigger they get the harder they bite and it will hurt. Any luck finding the others homes yet? They are cute.

Re: New here, from WI. Sick GSP.
Upping the sg that quickly probley crashed your cycled tank also. Sounds like a good plan but make sure to drip accumulate him slowly. As JP pointed out in his weakened state (although from the video his state doesn't look to bad) you don't want to shock him to much. I think this is the only way to ...

Re: New here, from WI. Sick GSP.
You have to make sure the live rock is cured. Even if it is cured you must transport in wet newspaper (and you still will get some die off). Live rock is very pricey from you LFS, I don't know what it sells for in your area but can go for up to $6.00 a lb around here, that is close to 400.00 in live...

Re: New here, from WI. Sick GSP.
Could just be sleeping and when you approach tank wake him and he is disorientated. That tank does look pretty cloudy some floss in your filter might clear it up quicker. The sooner he is in the bigger tank the better, would be better if you could set it up full salt within the next couple of days a...

Re: New here, from WI. Sick GSP.
Is he/she still eating? I wish you all the best. If they dont make it you now know your on the right track and can take your time to set up the proper tank for your next GSP buddy. Fingers crossed for your guy you sound like a caring person with your pets. It isn't your fault many people have fallen...

Re: New here, from WI. Sick GSP.
You don’t need mechanical filtration for a saltwater tank just live rock, skimmer. I know your are doing your best (darn Wal-Mart). Sorry to say not a good sign if your guy is getting stuck to the filter intake, but miracle''s do happen, is he/she still eating? You are going to need a hydrometer or ...

Re: Giant Green Spotted Puffer!
These guys can live well into their teens. Eventually you might want to upgrade your 30 gallon. That is the min and most think it isn't enought. Good Luck with finding homes for the other and with the guy your keeping.

Re: New here, from WI. Sick GSP.
LongGrain how did you cycle your 37 gallon so quickly? You’re best coarse of action at this point if your GSP isn’t in the 37 gallon is to set up that tank to be full marine and then drip accumulate your GSP to that. The higher salinity should help take care of the ich. Most GSP are kept full marine...

Re: Marine cheaper than brackish?
With the proper saltwater filteration of 1 1/2 - 2 lbs pre gallon live rock a good skimmer and flow you would be doing less water changes than on a brackish tank. Less water changes means less salt equal cheaper to run.

Re: How often should i change water?
My guess is that u have a pair of figure 8, so going full marine may not be an option. Nope they have two GSP so going full marine is an option. Take it up to full marine with the proper saltwater fliteration of live rock 1 1/2 - 2 lbs per gallon a good skimmer and plenty of flow and you can cut yo...

Re: DP eating frozen raw shrimp
Yes raw with shell on is the way to go. Make sure it is frozen first then thawed, if not bought like that in the grocery store. Another great product to buy, it usually goes under the name sea melody in your frozen seafood section. It has a mixture of quiet a few thing. Some other good choices.... m...

Re: New to the forums so here's my fish!
Much easier and cheaper in the long run to house them in their forever tank. So if you are planning to get a 75 gallon why not do it now?
