Re: Python Water Changer?

If you get it going let me know, I have a 35 gallon, and rheumatoid arthritis. Buckets is out, but a python looks like good sense. Unfortunately I have difficulty turning valves and taps, so need levers, or some sort of adaptation.

Re: Mealworms

Thanks, I’m feeding them a mix of live food and frozen, so they get a good variety. I’m just looking for something easy to culture, and I’ve done mealworms successfully before. I’ve got a couple of snail tanks set up, but I think it will take a while for them to start to yield.

I’m trying to learn how to post pictures on the forum. If this comes out it’s Podgy Puff, my most greedy and seemingly dominant male.

Has anyone fed their Dwarf Puffers mealworms, you can get mini ones, or are they too big?

Re: Newly arrived Puffs

Yes, although I have quite bad eyesight, so it takes me a while. My LFS is due 10 in on Thursday and he said I can have first pick. I did my first water change today (only 4 gallons, just to keep the substrate clean) and after the vacuum they picked over the sand carefully, and got the odd tiny snai...

Re: Newly arrived Puffs

I’m reluctant to worm immediately because there’s a large population of snails in the tank, although the pond type snails seem to be significantly less. However, there are MTS in there too, I’ve tried to remove them, but there must still be some in there. If I worm It may kill them, which will cause...

Re: Newly arrived Puffs

The link above takes you to some very poor pictures of my puffs. There’s one shot of the tank in general (note the reflection of my kitchen window). The second photo down in the middle is Brave Puff, who I think is a girl. She hunts alone and comes to the glass to look at me. The plant is one I was ...

Re: Newly arrived Puffs

I’ll try to get some pictures, at the moment all but one scoot off if they think I’m taking an interest in them. The do appear to be hunting through the tank though, which is a good sign!

Newly arrived Puffs

Hi, at long last I have got my first Puffers, four dwarf puffers in a 35 gallon tank. It is planted and has rocks and Bogwood. The puffs came to my lfs together with one other, which was sold separately, from a private seller in the UK. I want to do ongoing improvements in this tank, will the puffs ...

Kuhli Loaches

Hi, I’m preparing a tank for Dwarf Puffers, it’s 160l, I have a precycled sponge filter in there plus I’m just going to start up the integral trickle filter. Current bio load is just snails. I have some plants in there too. I’d really like a cleanup crew, and was thinking of a small colony of Khuli ...

Hello

Hi, prospective puffer owner here. I aim to own 2 DP's in the future. Not sure when, as I'm currently building a trickle filter for what might be their tank. I'm carefully researching to ensure I'm certain of being able to provide adequate care, and my main worry is if I have to go into hospital or ...
