SW QT
hey there, I am in the middle of trying to set up a SW QT for my new fish, and I just changed 90% of the water, and I am still reading 20ppm nitrates???????? I have an AC 110 filter on a 20 gallon tank (for flow) and all I have in there is the biomedia and sponge. This is super frustrating, so any h...

No he was more greyish. It is the lighting that is making him blue. And yes, he is HUMONGEROUS LoL. Glad you guys can see the pics, I wasn't sure. But he was very friendly and curious, you know, puffer like ^.^
Thanks for the WB, it's good to be home, in my own bed, and OMG I missed my fish! LoL

Re: 90 gallon SW tank, WIP
Finally got some macro algae in. Now I can leave and be rest assured that the tank will be cycling and seeding while I am gone on my vacation. Can't wait to get all my fish in the tank, but I have do QT them for a bit when I get back. So far though, so good. Their spots disappeared a week ago, and n...

Finally got the light on the 'fuge, and on a timer. I plan to run it opposite the DT. Now I just have to rinse off a couple of rocks from the established tank, add those in, get some macro algae, and then add Dr. Tim's. Good thing I will be gone for the 3 weeks, all the cycling will be done when I g...

Re: Finally moved in!
I feel your pain, that happened to me. I waited months and months for my LFS to get itty bitty F8s in....MONTHS LoL. Then I finally meet up with Pufftastic and adopt Luau and BAM! 2 .5in F8s the next week. It's OK though, I wouldn't change a thing, Luau is super awesome and I love his perfect little...

Well, guys, after putting it off for so long, I am creating this post to tell you that my sweet little green face'd Yoshi is no longer with me. She actually passed about 2 months ago, but, I have been avoiding thinking about it, which will explain my seemingly inactive presence around the forum late...

Re: My Red Oranda Goldfish has a Napoleon Complex.
Damn guys, quit posting stuff about all these beautiful goldfish!! I really, really, really want a black moor, or 3 or 4 or 5. LoL. After detesting gold fish for so long, I have been shown how wrong I was. However, with the 60 still set up, and the 90 as a WIP, not including the 2 5.5s, the 10 gallo...

Re: Ick in my saltwater tank
Add beta glucan to their diet (any vitamin store or GNC) to boost their immune system. It may help, it has helped mine. Not saying that the puffers are the problem, I think everyone was just a little stressed when you put them in, and if the tang gets stressed, it gets sick. For whatever reason, th...

Re: Ick in my saltwater tank
I think it may be from your tang, due to the addition of your puffers. I could be way off, but from tons of research, and hearing of people's experience, if you so much as sneeze at a blue hippo it catches ick. I decided to go with a yellow Hawaiian tang after I found that out. You will have to take...

Re: Vacation time!
Have a great time!!! Any tips for myself as I have to write out very detailed instructions for my friend who's going to come by and feed my tanks? We will be gone for three weeks, so someone has to feed them. Makes me a little nervous leaving my water babies for three weeks, but this trip has been p...
