Re: For RTR: Test to speech reader

HAL from 2001 space Odyssey? I remember it :)

the download for the free version is quite robotic. If you test drive the online version it is the "catch copy" to the paid version where you can select the voices.

For RTR: Test to speech reader

I just down loaded this little program (free version) : http://www.naturalreaders.com/index.htm I had to check it out because one of the marketers I work with can't speak English very well (heavy accent) so he uses this program as his "voice". It is really nifty. The free version is soundi...

Re: Nitrite issue... I can't believe it

That is a common error. Folks think that if a little is good, more must be better. It is not - it depresses the nitrite oxidizers and above 8 ppm can and will kill them. 10 ppm ammonia can and will eradicate the nitrite oxidizers totally. Excess ammonia is the commonest cause of extended cycle time...

All of Amano's tanks are a white background. most of those nature aquariums use that to give a look of distance.

Re: URGENT - Help needed

can you get any used filter media from your LFS? Get as much as they are willing to sell or 2x your filter capacity and you'll have that puppy cycled in no time.

Re: URGENT - Help needed

it could be the juice from the blood worm cube that is causing the problems. We usually strain off that juice before adding the worms to the tank.

Re: Im new so please help me :)

PP said move to BW, but I don't know. I think it depends on the time frame between now and the upgrade.

BW is certainly more healthy than FW for them.

I add it with the water change. 40% should be good tomorrow. You did 20% today. Don't forget the test kits.

Re: URGENT - Help needed

oh... she'll survive most likely. How she will do tomorrow is a different story.

It has only been in the tank 1 day so I can't see a huge problem with it. Make sure to clean up any remaining food left over so that it doesn't foul the tank.

Re: URGENT - Help needed

Prime detoxifies the ammonia.

It still helps with they cycling of the tank but it makes the ammonia harmless to fish. It is also used to treat tap water.

Re: Im new so please help me :)

How soon can you get a 65 ~ 70 gal for them? The reason I ask is, because once the new home is set up it makes the transition to salt much easier. In a 15 gal the transition is very difficult because it will be constantly changing due to evaporation. That is the biggest concern when dealing with sal...
