Fahaka tubes on back
okay real quick question but first let me help you visualize the concern. If you got a fahaka or are very used to them you know they have these little fork thinks on top of their mouths, very tiny. Well mine has one dead smack center on its back. ive never noticed it before but its there, looks just...

Flow is good to.prevent any dead spots in the tank. The fish won't mind and might enjoy it. Flow is always a good thing

Re: Fahakas teeth
Best advice I can give is to place the mussell upside down so it bites the shell to flip it. And crush thawed out snails a bit to expose the meat and motivate it to eat snail. You can do that with crawfish and just crus some so its sees its yummy goodness. If he us still hesitant to eat shelled meat...

freesing snails?
I just went to the Asian grocery store and they had "mud" snails that looked like regular mystery snails covered in mud. I bought 1.7lbs for 5ish$ pretty sweet deal. Now, I have gone to Petsmart and bought snails for 2.99 each before and just feed it straight to my puffer. My question is, ...

Re: fig8 sg
I'm not sure what the correct sg is but if its lower than that yes, keep it at what its used to and slowly reduce once a week. Osmosis kills.

Re: Wild caught mussles and cray fish?
I say go for it if its somethin you want to do. Try not to feed your puffer cooked food at all. If you catch goodies, freeze em for 48hrs to kill the nasties like scpion said. They may have bad bacteria or disease from the sea. If you breed your own, live would be fine because you know where and wha...

Re: Can't lower the NO² or the NO³
Prime by Seachem is a great product. you can get a 20$ bottle that is good for 5000gallons. its not a large bottle either, its one capful to every 50gallons of water. I use it with every water change and I never have water issues. It takes care of all the impurities in any water and makes it fish fr...

Re: Can't lower the NO² or the NO³
Hey PP: "I bought the aquarium twenty days ago, I tested the well water and was normal, NO² and NO³ were really low... Could this be causing my problem, could there be some bacteria or living organism that the test don't reveal but is jumping my NO² and NO³???" Im not too familiar with thi...

Re: weird habits
yea theirs aquarium glue you can buy... you can make your rocks look like a sculpture, defying the laws of physics. And if I were you, I would start with a frag of a coral that's cheap... some puffs may be murderous little bastards that spare nothing.

Re: Can't lower the NO² or the NO³
usually water changes do the trick... question for you
have you replaced your filter media lately? what kind of filter do you have?
pick a water source and stick to it, just conclude for yourself which one is better and stay consistent.
