Re: GSP with sunken belly, all the time..

I'm not talking about ppm's. I'm taking about your tank maybe not being cycled. Your tank water should be "clean", as in safe for fish, already cycled 0 ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate <20. I think you may need to read up on aquarium microbes and the nitrogen cycle. http://theaquariumwiki.co...

Re: f8 puffer with bulging eyes

If that were my fish, I'd consider those eyes more severe than what Melafix could handle and go with Maracyn and Maracyn 2.

Re: f8 puffer with bulging eyes

IP medication needs to be administered internally, soak the food in a solution.

Re: GSP with sunken belly, all the time..

What are your parameters? There should be no good to perfect, it should only be ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate <20.
You should not be removing the fish during water changes.
If your parameters are not holding and you have any ammonia or nitrite, that is likely causing the gasping.

Re: lost my first puffer :(

Are you certain he didn't die of another cause and his body just such to the intake post mortem? Are your parameters ok?

Re: How Often Should I feed My Mbu Puffer?

Wait, you don't test your water? How do you know whether or not the water is cycled and safe? Any ammonia or nitrite can kill him.

Re: Colorful LEDs

Lol, I actually don't know if red is ok or not, it's one of my least favorite colors. To me, red is "STOP", or, "beef". I think the other colors look nice.

No red, but the other colors would be ok, not all night since it's so bright.

My first choice on canisters are Eheim, followed by Aquatop/Sunsun. I read not so great reviews on Fluval, have heard from people not so great things too.

Re: f8 puffer with bulging eyes

I used it with a betta once, he didn't react well to it and had to do a large water change. But I've also had non-labyrinth fish have bad reactions to Melafix, it just depends on the fish and its own particular sensitivities. But overall, Melafix has a large margin of safety.
