I had to go with 8. It has a natural in tank look to it. Also a great looking fish and probably they are uncommon. If I ever saw one I'd probably bring it home.
It's also hard to resist any porc.
And why has 10 not gotten a vote> That would be my 2nd or 3rd choice.

Re: gH??
IME you cannot use the API or Tetra GH test kit to test BW as it will read extremely high every time. For example, my tapwater GH test at a low 7 degrees or so...But my BW tankwater tested at like 50+ degrees (drops). Only test KH with BW and you'll be good. I'm guessing this applies to other test k...

Re: pea puffs
I had 2 male dps in a tank together for a long time, they would also share with anything else I cared to house with them. It's not recommended though its a 1 in a million thing. Stick to only 1 male and life is easier I've been keeping a secret. I also have a lone male gold dust moly in there for a...

Re: pea puffs
I have 2m/2f. One male is huge and the other male is as small as the other two females. I think this keeps keeps things in check...The little guy doesn't challenge and the big guy doesn't see him as a threat. I'm probably/sure lucky. Just say it its fine, your puffers are swingers we get it, its ok...

Re: pea puffs
I keep 4 in a 29g with 6 black kuhlis. Have for 2 years or so. If the kuhlis weren't in there I might/would add another DP.
Just to be sure, the 30g would be a dedicated DP tank, right?

Re: Help my green spotted puffer is dying what do I do?
Brackish water will make the API ammonia test look like the yellow has a green tint to it. It has always done this for me. Also the pleco should not be in 1.010 SG. Please, please remove it and probably the algae eaters. I wouldn't worry about the 7.8 pH if it is stabale...That probably isn't your p...

Re: need help setting up a brackish tank for figure8 puffers
Yep have learnt my lesson Do you think the AR 850 will be big enough for one figure 8 puff 33" x17" x24" thanks x I think one F8 is perfect. Nothing like the relaxed/less competitive personaity of a singleton. IMO/IME 10 bumblebee gobies would also be perfect. Or in my none experienc...
