thanks for the reply guys --- yes, i do raise the snails myself -- ive had the snail tank up and running for a little over a year -- i try to keep up water changes in the snail tank, but dont keep the water as pristine as i should (could this be a problem)? I figure it is ok, cause they keep breedin...

for ferts, i pretty much use the tom barr method estimative index for low tech tanks -- where you dont measure anything really, but do big water changes every week to make sure nothing really gets out of hand --- that said, id like to start testing those kind of paramaters --- can anyone recomend a ...

i am currently in a hair algae battle with my 2 figure 8 tanks -- one of them i dose with flourish and excel and iron -- the other is more low wattage, so i dont use supplements often -- i have fast growing vals and hornwort in both tanks i have tried a 4 day black out period -- that worked somewhat...
