Re: Flea spraying your house with fish tanks

Have you tried the soapy water and a light method? It may or may not work as most of the fleas will be in or near the high traffic areas.
I had tried it and it did work but not to the extent I was hoping for.. maybe 10 a day or so.

Re: live rock curing time

if you have sufficient beneficial bacteria, just drop them in (pre washed of course) and you should be good to go. It will grow out over time.

Re: A Few Questions.

if you are leading up to SW, you might think of an ATO (auto top off) system. It is similar to your bucket and powerhead method. The reason they use "5 gallons" is so that you can quickly multiply that to the correct size. I use a measuring cup and put a black marker line on it for my tank...

It was a real cat fight until he asked me to leave the sub-forum and never come back. I politely accepted and...

invest in a python ;) I have a love / hate relationship with them. There are other brands (knock offs), but they don't come to mind at the moment.

Re: Nitrate reactor

it is possible. I have never seen that before but if you are willing to give it a go and write a review we're behind you. Most nitrate reduction systems I have seen are based on vodka dosing or anaerobic bacteria culture. There are other ways to accomplish this (including macro algae and veggie filt...
