Re: Leopard frog tankmates?
you keep contradicting what you say. If you had done your research, you would know that a leopard frog needs a semi-aquatic environment, and that a 20g long tank is not nearly big enough to provide that. I am fully aware that leopard frogs are semi-aquatic, and am also aware that this is about fish...

Re: Does anyone else have bad luck with African Dwarf Frogs?
I feed them frog pellets, blood worms, and snails. The older frogs is a possibility, but I feel like they drop dead regardless. Older frogs usually get skinnier and more sluggish, and they seem pretty fast and lively before death. I do find that at petsmart, they’re treated more like fish, and aren’...

Re: Leopard frog tankmates?
I never haphazardly do anything. If a betta’s recommended tank size is 5g, I’ll push for 30. I never like to have any animal in something not suited for them. Thanks for the link! I know most of the care, but I just need to find out what else could work, besides what I’m doing.

Re: My Green Terror Lost An Eye
Thanks! I couldn’t agree more. I thought hard on what would work well together, and after a few months of research, decided what to do. The only problem is really the competition for territory, as you put it. The leporinus used to be in an entirely separate tank. Then it got moved into the “aggressi...

Re: Leopard frog tankmates?
Thanks! I have plenty of experience with pets, and wasn’t planning on getting the frog any time soon, and have already done plenty of research towards the matter. The tank I’m getting is more than enough space for one frog. Anything I do when it comes to pets involves extensive research. I was just ...

Leopard frog tankmates?
Hi all, I am planning on setting up a 20g-long leopard frog tank from a tadpole kit I recently got, and was just wondering what other things can go with them. I was thinking about guppies, since they breed faster than the frogs might catch them, but I otherwise can’t think of another aquatic animal ...

Does anyone else have bad luck with African Dwarf Frogs?
Hi, everyone! I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had a problem with Petsmart’s ADFs. I’ve kept many in the past, but no matter what, they always tend to die of an unknown cause. The only ADFs I’ve kept for their lifespan were from a toy store, kept in a tiny cube. Am I doing something wron...

Re: My Green Terror Lost An Eye
This is a 60 gallon aquarium, but it is a balloon green terror, so has plenty of swimming room.

Re: Newbie to puffers, couple questions
GSPs need a lot of room, and can get quite nasty, even with each other. Fully grown, they will need more than 20g, and though brackish is fine right now, they will thrive the most in full marine as adults. If you keep them, good luck, but be prepared. I find that GSPs are the most mistakenly bought ...

Re: My Green Terror Lost An Eye
On its second day half-blind, the GT is learning to survive. Unfortunately, I do not currently have a separate tank to put him in, but I’ve been keeping an eye on the matter. I put melafix in the tank to avoid infection. The only one that seems to pick on the GT is the parrot, but the GT bites back ...

Re: My Green Terror Lost An Eye
I’ll definitely try to quarantine it. Is it possible the popeye can spread? It’s weird that it happened so fast, when it seemed like nothing. The leporinus used to be with a piranha (which taught it to be so territorial), and got its eye bitten, too. Of course, it healed, and even half blind is the ...

Re: My Green Terror Lost An Eye
Thanks! I knew from the start that putting anything with the leporinus was a gamble. I’d say he has a 50-50, seeings he’s acting relatively normal, but has a huge and vulnerable hole in his face. It’s a shame, seeings everything I was told said that he’d do fine with everything else.

My Green Terror Lost An Eye
Hi! I seem to have run into a problem with a balloon green terror that I bought at the LFS a few days ago. Yesterday, after I added the last two fish for the tank, I noticed one eye on the GT slightly larger and cloudier than the other, and immediately recognized it as popeye. I know that popeye can...
