Re: which puffer to go for...

If it was me I'd get the abei. That's one of my favorite fish I've ever owned. They are hard to come by and often misidentified. I've yet to find another. Id make sure its an abei though The suvatti is another rare one I've had a hard time finding until a week ago. Looks wicked but pretty inactive. ...

Re: One puff not enough, New Suvattii

I'll add what I do. I used finnex in the past but switched over to vivagrow 24/7. They work amazingly well and are cheap. Aquaneat 24/7 is another one that's doing well. I use these on my dart frog tanks. How I deal with bright lights especially brand new ones is I put a green house screen under the...

Re: One puff not enough, New Suvattii

The 65B's for me were already paid for and the way I got them were super cheap since one was free due to a mistake and the other was part of a reward from manufacturer. They are full open top but the tanks are made with 1/2 glass and have low iron fronts. So to buy another tank was really not neces...

Re: One puff not enough, New Suvattii

Had not thought about feeding the little guy, lol. My other puff eats krill and earthworms but is pretty tame at this point. This little guy might not be ready for dead so I might try earthworms or maybe run down to the beach and get a couple tiny shore crabs for him to hunt. It should eat earthwor...

Re: One puff not enough, New Suvattii

Im thinking of either getting a 29 or 40B on the sale... I really do like the extra tank space of the 65B to aquascape but if the Suvatti are that inactive then I really may consider a smaller tank. Imo I would of went 20L or 29. I would have for the hairy as well though. I just now bought a 20L fo...

Re: One puff not enough, New Suvattii

I just bought my filter and heater for pickup this afternoon. I'm either going to use the 29 I just bought for darts or get a 20L. Then I have to fight my jag for the bigger river rocks. Its going to probably mirror the congo setup. By the way if anyone's looking for something aqua imports has a nic...

Re: My palembang/dragon/humpback puffers

Feeding wise just do the best you can it's going to take them a min to get acclimated. I use to have to make everything dance with a suvatti and a congo so you're way ahead of the game. I don't know how you would get a non risky crab etc but I think it would be good to exercise the killer instinct. ...

Re: Suvatti??

Eta next Friday.

My old suvatti back in 05 (I think) was pretty active but moved around very stealthy. It wouldn't greet me like my others would but instead hunker down to ambush food. It did not like me messing with the inside of the tank at all & would try to bite.

Re: Humpback/Dragon/Palembang Puffer Help

Like others have said they're a no go in a community. I've seen people keep them together in a bigger tank, but that was luck of the draw with a pair formed. They also get bigger than you realize ive seen some way over what's been stated as the max size....most murders go down when the lights go out...

Thanks. I looked there along with my usuals, but still no luck. I did find a nice congo for a good price that's on the way.

Re: My Schoutedenis Update

I've been on the fence about it for months now. I have it, but this is my way of flipping a coin. If they're still around then I'll take that as a sign :).

Do you have any feeding vids or anything?

Re: My Schoutedenis Update

I'm sick of seeing these things. I'm about to put 50 a week back if they're still available in a month I'm biting the bullet.

Nice fish and love the greenery. Did you get these from wetspot?
